abandoned

It's that time again - COD MW3. Now if those letters mean nothing to you then well done, you've escaped, but Chez P has been hit with the bug. I knew it was coming so had prepared myself with the fact I wouldn't be seeing a lot of Adam from yesterday till the weekend (when I'm being a wicked girlfriend & dragging him away from his x-box for a mate's bday!).
I got in from jive at about midnight last night & popped my head round the door to the spare room to say hi to Adam & see how the game was. He asked me if he could have something to eat, so after muttering summit about him being a cheeky wotsit & in my weary state I gave in. I turned on the kitchen light & after about 30mins of it warming up (stupid energy saving bulb) I was greeted by a lovely bunch of freesias :) he told me they were a sorry for abandoning me in favour of a game for the rest of the week. Freesias are my favourite flowers so I unwrapped them & tried to make an arrangement (no comments please mum) in a pint glass (still such a student!) for our bedroom, it was lovely waking up to the smell this morning.
After I finished 'arranging' my flowers I had a little pressie for Adam. I'd seen some Halloween gingerbread cookies on sale in Sainos with a d.i.y decorating kit so I made him 4 to nibble on while he plays today. They ain't great I know but just bear in mind it was getting close to 1am by this point & I knew I had to get up at 6am this morning!
If anyone else is suffering from not seeing their other halves then lets stick together, we'll get through this! I have no idea how many hours this game takes to complete but surely it can't be as many as Fallout right?!

Just be glad hes not planning on buying Skyrim on friday (made by the same people who made Fallout 3). That apparently has over 300 hours of gameplay...

Enjoy your free time without Adam, We'll try to return him in a similar ish state to what we got him in :P

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith.
