#PoppyRun mission accomplished

I did it! I actually managed to run 5k (yes run - the whole way!) in 35min. I still can't believe I managed it but I did & I've got the medal to prove it!!
Not sure when (or if) I'll do another one but it's something I always wondered if I'd be able to do & the answer was yes! I'm now just wondering how long can I drag on the "I've done a run hence I can eat anything?!"

Thanks a bunch to everyone who's sponsored me & if you still want to click on the link HERE.

#PoppyRun / walk / run / walk

I can’t believe my first 5K run is in less than a week....I really hoped by now I’d be well into my training & enjoying having a target...well I’m not! I’m still only managing to complete the 5K in intervals. I think I naively thought I’d be able to do it without putting in extra training, instead I’ve been running 3min + fast paced walking 2min twice a week completing 5K in 40min & I’ve had nowhere near enough practice outside. But Hey, it’s too late now. I went to the gym this morning, I’ll go again on Friday morning & then I do the run Sunday.

So please think of me when you’re relaxing at home (probably still in bed) while I’ll be outside ready to take on my first ever run. It’ll be an experience & I’ve always wanted to try one, not sure I’ll do another but hey I gave it a go. I’ll update you next week. Yoink!

Do you swing often?!

It's not every Monday you get asked that question! Or maybe I will from now get your mind out of the gutter....I went to what I hope will be the start of many classes with Swing Patrol. I've been meaning for years to give it a go with these guys & I finally decided to get off my backside & do it & wow had I missed that wonderful dance rush!
I learned all about the side by side Charleston & I can't believe how much we covered. It was so much fun. So now I'm one of those weird people who don't groan when Monday comes around...bring it on!

Pirates, Ninjas, Unicorns & PB&J sarnies were just part of what was on offer last night at The Monarch Camden.

Thanks to Frank Turner introducing this crazy pair on his UK tour we couldn't possibly miss their first headline show in the UK which was also free! It was as wacky & fun as I hoped & to top it off I met/spoke to Frank as well who was in the crowd dancing along with the rest of us. Rarr! Awesome night!

Before the show while at the merch stand getting a bargain £5 t-shirt (guess they didn't want to fork out the excess baggage on the way back to the US!) I introduced Brian & Neil to the midlands phrase "Eh Up Me Duck" & each time I saw Brian after that he repeated it in his Dick Van Dyke British accent!

Here's a little video from the show....I didn't film much I was too busy jumping / shouting / dancing & getting up on stage with everyone - I can now officially say I've shared a stage with Mr Frank Turner! Before you click below, open your mind, take it all with a pinch of salt, get ready to do the dance moves & shout along. All together now "I want a PB&J but I want..........."
