Floral Friday v2

Image
I'm still loving my little outdoor haven..... The top picture of the Lupins is pretty old now but I love this view & the Nasturtiums below have been going crazy! I've had a few nibbles of the leaves but not braved the flowers yet (something in my head tells me it's just not right & they look too pretty!). The other plants that are really happy are my Begonias.....I'll have to grab a pic of them for next week... you can't wait I bet?! Ttfn x

Floral Friday v1 (+2 days)

Anyone who's been to our new home will know I've been gripped by gardening fever! My first purchases from Aylett Nursery (the first of many I think!) was my little Lupin family above..... the flowers were stunning, sadly they've been nibbled at by pesky white fly but fingers crossed they'll return next year (& I've just spotted another bud on Larry so hopefully all is not lost!)  I've been popping out every night after work to water my plants, often in my pjs....lucky neighbours! It's been fun to see what's been doing well & what's not happy so I'll have a better idea for next year what to put where. There's nowt better than having your own peaceful personal space to go into at the end of a rough day & potter.....whether it's a bit of weeding, slug collecting (my record is 70.... in 1 day!) or just to water the bedding plants. Bliss! Ttfn x p.s - don't worry you're not in a time warp.... I meant to

It's June & we're Brits so no matter what it's BBQ time! A few weeks ago ma&pa came to help build Walter Weber then with a glass of Sangria in one hand & tongues in the other we were off! Dad always cooks a killer BBQ so who better to learn from than the expert himself?! We had Chili/Dark Chocolate sausages (sooo good - don't knock 'em till you've tried 'em!), Sweet Chilli Sausages, Beef Burgers & Venison Steak followed by corn on the cob, yes I know it was only for the 4 of us but it wouldn't be a BBQ without loads of left over food! Today I put my skills to the test & cooked another BBQ for Adam & me...this time we had Pork/Apple & Aberdeen Angus sausages & corn on the cob. I was pretty chuffed with it all & I think corn on the cob done on the BBQ is now a firm fave. So although I wasn't at home for Fathers Day this year at least I made him proud with the help of my new found friend Walter! L

Repeat after me....

Do not mix your drinks...."wine then beer & you'll be queer." I don't even know where the jäger bombs fit into the rhym but they ain't a good idea! Poor Adam's has to deal with this face all day while trying to rip out the kitchen & build Ikea furniture... I'm using this picture as a reminder to myself....pick a drink & stick to it! Let's not have 2 glasses of Prosecco, 1 bottle of wheat beer, 2 pints of London Pale Ale, more Prosecco, 2 jäger bombs & a bit of Old Speckled Hen...we ain't at Uni anymore & it takes way too long to recover again. Yoink!  Ttfn x
