calling all brides-to-be!

Image
Put that planning book away & head down to Belle's Bridal Boot Fair this Sunday in Hove. It's a great chance to pick up some bargains for your big day! There'll be a mix of old & new as previous brides sell things they no longer need & suppliers sell end-of-line products. I'll be there with Adam, ma&pa selling a variety of things from our wedding including: ~ roughly 100 jam jars ~ melted vinyl bowls ~ various A1 posters ~ approx 150mtr of bunting as well as spare fabric triangles ~ & even a spare wedding dress! If you need any more info check out Belle's events website HERE & another review from Ooh! Mrs James  HERE . Here's to a fun day & hopefully more than a few pennies towards our belated honeymoon to Japan later this year! If you do come along make sure you stop & say hi! Ttfn x

She lives!

Don’t worry all you lovely people I’ve not vanished into thin air my little world has all of a sudden become mega busy!! With things like: ~ snow (in case you’ve been under a rock & not seen the constant tweets or status updates, it has been snowing!!), which lead to…. ~ potentially cancelled flights (thankfully they weren’t!) ~ a new season to design & style ~ getting used to wearing a summer wardrobe for a week while I enjoy 25-30 degrees in Mumbai (jealous yet?!) So don’t worry (not that you were!) I’ve not deserted you I’ve just gone a bit AWOL, hope that’s good with you?! Ttfn x

And all that Jive!

Image
I'm back baby! After taking an unwanted break from Jive since the wedding (I still have a black toenail but it's not gonna take away my fun any longer!) I popped down to Oval last night for my first JiveNation class of the year & boy was it ace! It's always fun to catch up with familiar faces & on top of that I had some brilliant dances! I was a bit rusty at first but once I'd dusted away the cobwebs from the 'jive' section of my brain & I remembered what a smoothback was I was laughing! I'll just leave you with a video of Max & I jiving our little hearts out at the wedding. I might not be the greatest dancer in the world but I love every second of every dance & that's what matters right?! It also helps when you have a proper twirly princess dress on! ;) Ttfn x

Housewife in training

Image
I took a huge leap into adulthood & wifedom last week & bought an iron! I've managed without an iron since leaving home (well I had an iron but it was just used for melting plastic wallets & being arty at uni!) but Adam & I felt it was time we actually ironed our clothes instead of hanging them up & letting the creases pretty much fall out! As I stood there ironing in front of the tv I felt like a proper grown up/wife/responsible 8 year old! Our weekend was mainly spent tidying up & cleaning (in fact we didn't leave the house at all yesterday which was bliss). We did make it to the cinema on Saturday though to see Gangster Squad which was brill. I thought it was going to be a bit too bloody at first but the story line was great & I only had to bury my head into Adam's shoulder a couple of times! It's definitely one to see! Can't believe it's Monday already *groan* but hey, only 4 more days to go then it's Saturday again! Tt

Chrimbo with The Parkers

I was nervous about my first Christmas without ma&pa & spending it with the in-laws but I didn't need to worry! Yes it was different from our quiet Christmases with just the 3 of us in front of the tv, watching the Queen & going for a walk by the canal, but that was it, it was different. One isn't better than the other & they're both as special to me as the other. It took pretty much all day for the kids to open their presents, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they were still opening them now! It was fun being there to capture the excitement (& controlled mayhem!). We sat down to the biggest roast ever cooked by Lisa as we rocked our his & her Christmas jumpers (we're a true married couple now!). After letting dinner go down it was time to cut the cake & microwave the Christmas pudding, the cake was yummy but the pudding didn't quite go to plan as the bottom melted all over one of Brandon's plates! Yoink! Cheers Asda!

Wedding Wednesday - Trash The Dress

Image
What better way to end my Wedding Wednesday series with a Trash The Dress shoot?! I'd always dreamed of trashing my dress after our wedding (as you do!) but didn't think we'd have enough money to afford the shoot, that was until I saw the competition on Rock&Roll Bride last year. To cut a long story short (see more of it HERE !) I won & Emily from the fab Photographic Blonde (link HERE ) arranged the shoot. We were all set to do it 2 weeks after our wedding (so thankfully I'd still fit in the dress(!)) & it helped to carry on the wedding excitement that bit longer! I met up with her to discuss my crazy, colourful ideas mid last year & we got really excited thinking about everything. It was fun to bounce ideas off someone new & who was as excited about this as I was! Adam & I met Emily at her flat which was so wonderfully pristine & white when we started but I'm sure after we came back & showered it wasn't quite the sam

who's a lucky girl then?!

Generally I don't post about my Chrimbo gifts but there were 2 luverly necklaces I had to shout about! Firstly Adam got me a really cute button necklace from the rather fab Thimble & Fred (check out their site HERE ). They also threw in some festive button hair slides & their branding made it a joy to open from start to finish! Check them out if you're looking for a gift for someone special. I also got new snug slippers from Adam (see top left, he'd wrapped them individually so it took me a while till I got the second matching one!). Secondly I got this ace unicorn necklace from Liz (at Distract Me Now Please ). It was part of the Blogger Secret Santa set up by Charlotte from t*rexes and tiaras . I'd never done one before but it was good fun buying for someone you only knew through their blog & email info! So thanks a bunch Liz & thanks to Charlotte for setting it up. I hope my present was well received to my girl too! I hope y'all did

2013 resolutions

Image
After a brilliant New Year break in Wales with my uni mates (more on that another day) I’m ready to hit 2013 with some new & some tweaked resolutions. I don’t know about you but I’m not keen on the sound of 2013, partly cos so much good happened for me in 2012 & I didn’t want it to end but also cos the ‘13’ sounds a bit ominous, not that I’m superstitious about it, I’d just like to hibernate for the year & wake up in 2014 which sounds much friendlier! Anyways enough random ramblings & onto the resolutions:  ~ FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF I’m not going to do the typical lose weight cos it never happens, so this year I’m going to focus on feeling good overall, whether it’s spending a bit more time over my hair, or making sure I put on the right coat to match my outfit & not just grabbing the closest one as I rush out the door, or wearing clothes that make me feel good & not just scruffy. It might even result in losing a bit of the Chrimbo podge but when tha

Wedding Wednesday - silly space

Image
Firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR READERS! x While the YMCA, Superman Song & Macarena blasted out from the dancefloor our guests found another way of expressing themselves....in our Silly Space. It was such a big hit & everyone had a great time dressing up in all the props. Chris Barber also had a great idea to take the conga through it.... This picture below is the only silly pic that I'm in with all my uni mates! I was too busy having fun dancing to go in but Adam made the most of it that's for sure! Just as Chris started to pack everything away Adam & I realised we hadn't even posed in there together so we grabbed this quick shot.... This is the last post from our actual wedding day but tune in next week to see what went on when my wedding dress came in contact with a lot of powdered paint & I trashed it! Ttfn x
