let's get down wit da kids

I've heard a lot about Bubble Tea on various blogs so when Adam, Ash & I were in Soho last week I convinced them to give it a go. I tried to walk in & look like I knew exactly what I wanted but being faced with all the weird & wonderful names I drew a blank & just said to the guy dressed as a scientist 'What is this?!'

He explained it was made with Tapioca balls & various flavours (should have known then we weren't onto a winner) & we were advised as newbies that we should try a cold fruit tea first so I went for Ginger with popping Orange balls while the others braved it & had a warm milky tea.

I wish I'd risked it too. I'm not a fan of ice lemon tea at the best of times so quite why I thought this would be any different I have no idea! The first 3 sips were a novelty & when an Orange 'bubble' popped that was fun but after that I just started to feel a bit queasy! Adam & Ash got on a bit better & managed to finish most of theirs (tho Adam was off ill the day after - coincidence?!).

So all in all even though the cafe was packed & people keep blogging/tweeting/face booking  about Bubble Tea I'm not sold. Give me a mug of Tetley or PG Tips any day, milk & no sugar please.

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Russia Rabble 2018

Wow where did the last 6months go?! So far 2018 has been an ace one... not stopped as usual... but loved it all the same!  At the end of June Adam and I went to Russia with two friends... We went to Moscow and St Petersburg and we loved it. I knew it would be great but it was just so much nicer, friendlier and brighter than expected... check it out! late night flights... early morning landings... Greatest Showman binges (watched it 4 times in total - how amazing is this film?!)... lazy sleep breakfast... sunny morning walks... 40 winks on a park bench (due to 28hours of being awake!)... finally being able to check into our holiday apartment... another 40winks / 2hours kip... supermarket explorations... Bolshoi sightseeing... marvelous metro stations... jazzy shopping centers... twinkly lights everywhere... red square at night...  Day 2... wonderfully magical markets... pug cushion purchases... vodka for lunch...
