let the fun begin

carrying on from yesterday's post (click HERE).After the church service (where I thankfully didn't blub) Nick & Lisa held their reception at the stunning Crabbs Barn, it really was pretty & thankfully we did quite well with the weather. In between posing for the official shots (we scrub up well don't we?! :P) I was off tottering around with my Bucks Fizz/Ale in one hand & little Lumix in the other capturing my own spin on the day.
Thanks so much to Christina (on the left) for letting me post this pic that her little girl took (think she's got a budding photographer there & I might have competition!).
Lisa with Jenna her maid of honor & Nick's best man (in more ways than one!) Adam. What a stunning family.
While waiting for dinner Ash, Paul & Adam reflect on the day & the meaning of life.
Before too long it was time to go inside, we cheered Nick & Lisa as they walked into the room as the new Mr & Mrs before they cut their elegant cake & we all sat down to  a scrummy dinner of spiced butternut squash & roast lamb. Yum!
After dinner (& a few glasses of wine for dutch courage) it was time for the speeches. Keith, Nick & Adam all did great jobs, Adam had everyone laughing along & he nailed it! :)
I glanced over to Jenna's table during the speeches & loved her expressions, I know I'll be the same come September!

Once the speeches were over we went back outside to the bar & sweet table while the room was cleared ready for the last part(y) (see what I did there?! :P ) of the day which I'll post tomorrow.

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Russia Rabble 2018

Wow where did the last 6months go?! So far 2018 has been an ace one... not stopped as usual... but loved it all the same!  At the end of June Adam and I went to Russia with two friends... We went to Moscow and St Petersburg and we loved it. I knew it would be great but it was just so much nicer, friendlier and brighter than expected... check it out! late night flights... early morning landings... Greatest Showman binges (watched it 4 times in total - how amazing is this film?!)... lazy sleep breakfast... sunny morning walks... 40 winks on a park bench (due to 28hours of being awake!)... finally being able to check into our holiday apartment... another 40winks / 2hours kip... supermarket explorations... Bolshoi sightseeing... marvelous metro stations... jazzy shopping centers... twinkly lights everywhere... red square at night...  Day 2... wonderfully magical markets... pug cushion purchases... vodka for lunch...
