It's that time of year again

A new year & new resolutions! Im currently sitting in the hairdressers having a long overdue cut & colour & started to think about the year ahead. 2011's list seemed to go quite well so now I'm on a roll let's take a look at 2012:
~ get married:
Thought I'd start with one that's (hopefully!) a definite to happen. Adam & I can't wait till Sept 1st & plans are going really well.
~ pay off credit card:
This was part of last year's list & I did it! It was such a great feeling to be free from debt. This time cos of Chrimbo & Adam's birthday a bit has gone back on but I'm confident I can tackle it & be debt free again. Woop!
~ loose weight:
The wedding diet's gone on the back burner for a bit but come Jan 1st mum & I are challenging each other again to fight the flab, forfeits & all! I'm planning on getting back into the swing (no pun intended!) of jive & to start swimming properly as well.

~ stop trying to keep everyone happy:
Mum came up with this one for her & I like it so I've pinched it too. Sometimes in this last year I've tried too hard to keep others happy which has resulted in me getting upset. So from now on its going to be a bit more about me. I loved the post from IRockSoWhat's blog below:

There was an old man, a boy and a donkey. They were going to town and it was decided that the boy should ride.
As they went along they passed some people who thought that it was a shame for the boy to ride and the old man to walk. The old man and boy decided that maybe the critics were right so they changed positions.
Later, they passed some more people who thought that it was a real shame for that man to make such a small boy walk. The two decided that maybe they should both walk.
Soon they passed some people who thought that it was stupid to walk when they had a donkey to ride. The man and the boy decided maybe the best thing would be for them both to ride the donkey.
Soon, they passed a group who thought that it was a shame to put such a load on a poor helpless animal. The old man and the boy decided that maybe the critics were right so they decided to carry the donkey.
As they crossed a bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.
The Moral of the Story: If you try to please everyone, you will eventually lose your ass!
--Do what you want, you don't need to worry about what anyone else thinks.

The others I'm carrying over from 2011 are:
~ i must read most of the books i've bought, not just keep buying new ones just cos i like the covers! don't get me wrong i love reading but i think i could last all year with the unread books i have so far rather than needing to buy any more! i think my 12 page amazon wish list could do with being edited slightly too!
~ i need to try taking out my roller skates at least once & give them a good airing, rather than just using them at an outdoor roller disco & thinking that's enough use! i also must must must learn how to stop successfully! I haven't even got them out this year at all (apart from during the leak in the coal shed!).
~ seeing as we bought a house 1yr & 6months ago (how times flies!) I'd like to have more time at home with adam being a couple rather than rushing around seeing people or having people over & we need to sort wedding stuff too now.

Well there we go. My last resolution is to enjoy every minute of the year to come a little birdie tells me it's gonna be ace!
Ttfn x
