Becca & her Happy Hens

Out of my mates the next person to taking the Miss - Mrs transformation is Becca! Woop!

We had her Hen Party a few weekends ago. It was held at her house & suited her down to a tee, hats off to Helena for sorting it & all the fellow Hens for their wonderful contributions!

A few of us arrived the night before & so started the big day with yummy pancakes (thanks to Anna) before we pushed Becca off to buy some "important last minute things" while we transformed her dining room into a bunting & pompom palace.

Everyone had been asked to bring food for an afternoon tea. We were pretty much drowning in cakes (not that anyone complained!) & lots of yummy savory snacks too. Beth's cupcakes above were AMAZING!

After we'd welcomed Becca back & eaten our weight in sweet stuff it was time to split into two, half of us were learning how to crochet, the rest were learning how to make bracelets before we all swapped over.  Some girls turned into crafting demons though & were still going strong on the crochet, all be it a bit tipsy, at 11pm! Hardcore!

In between crochet & more crochet we enjoyed a curry from Becca's favourite curryhouse, it was so welcome after all those cakes! Anna made some blimmin strong cocktails (note - don't ask someone who doesn't drink to make cocktails!), I got hooked on making pompoms & we all took part in a quiz about Becca. Once we managed to prise the crochet hooks out of Cess & Emhen's hands it was time to make wedding dresses out of old clothes (like you do!). Originally this was supposed to take 15min, but half hour later everyone was really getting into it & 45min later we ended up with these masterpieces........

We'd originally planned to go out & party the night away but by the time we'd had the catwalk show it was way past midnight so we carried on nattering away in the lounge before people started nodding off one by one.

I'm loving all these hen parties & the way they're all so different to match each bride-to-be. Who's next?! Woop!

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

T-minus 6months / 184days!

Eeep! 6months today I'll be just about to walk down the aisle to see the man I'm going to marry! AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!I'm so ridiculously excited I'm not sure I can bottle it up! Valentines day marked 200 days till our wedding & mum made us a countdown using tape measures measuring 100cm each. The plan was to cut off a cm each day as the countdown but she'd included little charms all down them of bags, shoes, guitars, etc & we didn't want to ruin it so we're colouring it in with a Sharpie instead!
