goin' skeggy.

Last Thursday Adam & I decided to follow the trend of most Leicester peeps & head to Skegness to see the sea. We eventually got there after a Toby Carvery breakfast (as fab as it sounds!) & tackling winding roads & slow drivers (not impressed!). Again our first stop was the tea room (noticing a theme?!) we found the best hotel for our 'cakey summit' that was stuck in the 80s & the average age of the people eating there was around the same figure too. I'm surprised we weren't I.D'd on entry & turned away for being too young. After a wander we went to play Crazy Golf (it rained a bit & holding a club in one hand & an umbrella in the other isn't as hard as it sounds!). I managed to get a hole in one but Adam still thrashed me on the last hole completing it in 7 where I took 16 shots! Yoink.
We couldn't come to the seaside without heading to the arcades & playing on the 2p machines. I think this bottom right photo is Skeggy through & through & I love it. They didn't move for the whole time we were in there & didn't talk to each other either.
After an ice cream & a wander down the high street (we saw the most amazing baby Chameleon in a pet shop) we decided we'd seen all that Skeggy had to offer & wanted to go somewhere else for dinner. When we got to the car it was covered in ladybirds & we're still finding them in nooks & crannies now, I've never seen so many in one spot. It's obviously not just people from the midlands who head to Skegness for the summer hols. Our first stop on the way home was Melton Mobray (home of the pork pie & stilton) but when we got there the town was pretty much closed so we gave up on that plan & played it safe by heading to pub down the road from mum&dad's house!

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

T-minus 6months / 184days!

Eeep! 6months today I'll be just about to walk down the aisle to see the man I'm going to marry! AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!I'm so ridiculously excited I'm not sure I can bottle it up! Valentines day marked 200 days till our wedding & mum made us a countdown using tape measures measuring 100cm each. The plan was to cut off a cm each day as the countdown but she'd included little charms all down them of bags, shoes, guitars, etc & we didn't want to ruin it so we're colouring it in with a Sharpie instead!
