stratford-upon-avon

After our camping adventure we headed back to mum&dad's for a week so we could have a bit of a holiday without having to pay for B&B (cheeky but ace!). On Wednesday we decided to head to Stratford-Upon-Avon to learn about Shakespeare & hopefully get cultured. Once we got there our first port of call was a tea room of course where we had the best cream tea I've had in a very long time. Though still can't believe it was meant for one person, thankfully we shared it!
After our pit stop we jumped on board the open top bus. I was listening away to the commentry learning all about how the sayings 'worth your salt' & 'left on the shelf' came about (I won't bore you with it now!) & Adam just sat there looking a bit bemused. It turned our he was listening to the kids version where there was a grandad & two kids bickering about everything they saw. Random! We only got off the bus once at Anne Hathaway's house (cos mum had been the week before & got a free entry ticket so we only had to pay for one ticket - we are saving for a wedding you know?!).
The house was really lovely & after we'd had a wander around we exlpored the gardens & found a maze. On the way in we did it properly but on the way back some of the trees had died so there were extra cut throughs. We thought we were being clever by using the 'short cut' but we ended up more lost than if we'd followed the route cos we somehow we ended up back in the middle twice! That'll learn us!
The rest of the afternoon was spent in the pub relaxing & munching on nibbles before it was time to head home.
