Queens - if it's not the Jubilee it's the Tennis!

We were lucky enough to get tickets to Queens Club for the Tennis this year & even luckier we got them for the Tuesday & not the Monday (which was a complete wash out!)
It was really bizarre the way it was just at the end of a row of houses, would love to buy one of them though so we could watch all the matches from the back bedroom!
Our tickets were for Centre Court & the seats were really good (not sure there are any bad ones though it was so small), you could even watch the action on court 2 in between matches!
Unfortunately cos there had been no play the day before we had Monday's matches, if all had gone to plan though we'd have seen Andy Murray. I'm not a huge fan of him to be honest & he didn't actually play that well in the end but would have been good to see him.
At least we got to see one Brit though - James Ward v Kevin Anderson (who won) as well as Ivo Karlovic v Lleyton Hewitt (we missed the whole of the 1st set though just to queue up for coffee, don't get me started, it was stupid!) & finally Frederico Gil v Marcos Baghdatis (which was a brill match but we left before the last set cos we were so frozen!).

I also had a little play around with my jelly lenses.
Who'd have thought we were in June?! It was so cold! Next time we'll come with more layers, hand warmers & a huuuuge flask of hot water to make our own hot drinks! Fingers crossed for the ballot again!

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith.
