Poppy Power

"Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red" - the stunning installation at the Tower of London to commemorate 100 years since the First World War.

The first official day is tomorrow (5th August) to represent the first full day of Britain's involvement in the war. In total there'll be 888,246 ceramic poppies - one for each British or Colonial death during the war. The last poppy will be placed on November 11th. See more about it HERE
It was really lovely to be able to just watch the Volunteers planting the poppies while the world went by without having to rush here there & everywhere like we usually do.
On our saunter around we stopped for a few touristy shots (at places I often take for granted living here) before heading for another brilliant meal at Dishoom. As if the day couldn't get any better dad found a star on the floor of Elstree Station for Patrick Macnee (from Avengers fame) which made his day.
Don't forget to switch your lights out tonight between 10pm-11pm, see more info HERE

We will remember them.
