Italy inspiration

Florence was on top form as always & Pitti Uomo has left me with more than a few thought bubbles. It's the first time I've been with my (not so) new company... it was great to look at different products & meet new faces at the Gilli Bar - where else?!
We left a grey & blustery London & arrived in a sunny & not to nippy Florence. We spent the first day looking round the shops, trying Ossobuco (veal steak with the bone marrow) which was yummy followed by over priced (& over strong) G&Ts at Gilli along with all the other beautiful people.
Day two we attacked the show which was really good. We spent most of the day there looking at the stands & enjoying the musical interludes provided by the Rock theme of Pitti this year. My fave had to be an Argentinian one man band who was fab!
After popping into a few more shops & stopping for a meal we ended up back at Gilli. This time I had a €10 larger which was much easier than the G&T on the tastebuds (even if I didn't look as classy!) while we mingled some more 'till the early hours. It was tough getting up this morning & going by everyone else's faces at the airport the feeling was mutual! Can't wait for my own bed tonight! 

Hopefully that wasn't my last trip to Florence, it's the first time I haven't put a coin in the hog's mouth meaning I'll return back to that beautiful city. Fingers crossed we can prove that superstition to be rubbish!

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

T-minus 6months / 184days!

Eeep! 6months today I'll be just about to walk down the aisle to see the man I'm going to marry! AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!I'm so ridiculously excited I'm not sure I can bottle it up! Valentines day marked 200 days till our wedding & mum made us a countdown using tape measures measuring 100cm each. The plan was to cut off a cm each day as the countdown but she'd included little charms all down them of bags, shoes, guitars, etc & we didn't want to ruin it so we're colouring it in with a Sharpie instead!
