everybody's doing the fish, yeah yeah yeah!

had an............adventurous night last night! rfa, slink and i went to see reel big fish at warwick uni in coventry. the gig was amazing, as usual! they are so cool, everyone should see them at least once! they had about 3 support acts and they werent too bad actually, one group really reminded us of bill and ted! hehe, they were trying so hard to be cool! rbf came on about 10:30pm but scott (one of the main guys) wasnt there cos he was ill :-( they werent as good as when i saw them in cambridge but were still worth it! the other problem with the gig was that it was for over 14's only, there were so many kids! we all felt very old! it was funny though watching them all 'moshing' to their best attempts! i had one particularly smelly BOY infront of me, he really needed introducing to deodorant!! hehe! on the way back to drop slink off, rfas car broke down -again! we broke down just off the m42 at 12:30am and the AA eventually came at 2am, it was sooo cold in the car! luckily rfa had said jokingly before we set off to pack a big coat incase we broke down and also took a flask of hot chocolate! that saved the day i think! unfortunately my trousers were soaked as well as my socks and shoes so my legs up to my knees were frozen! brr! the nice AA man came and let slink and i sit in his warm van while him and rfa looked at the car to see what was up. its great being girl at times cos we can go and escape to the warmth while the men have to sort out the problem!! Rfa'll have a new car soon i think, hes replaced so many parts now! we dropped sarah off and then went and sat in the big truck with the flashing lights (as in the RAC advert!) while we towed the car back to lufbra. finally got home at 5:15/5:30am! *yawn*

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith.
