Michelle + Matt + Mattay = Manchester!

Last weekend I paid a long over-due visit to Manc-land to visit Michelle & Mattay. I took a well earned half day on Friday & it felt so good to just relax to my music & snooze on the train rather than driving up. 
Friday night was spent catching up over a Chinese take away with a bottle of Kingfisher & crappy tv. Bliss!

Saturday we went for a long walk around Heaton Park before getting dolled up & heading into Manchester. We pottered round the shops, (I tried my hardest not to spend!) before stopping off for a cocktail in the Northern Quarter followed by a giant Calzone. We had tickets to see The Producers which was brill. I'd seen it a long time ago & had forgotten how funny it actually is! On the tram home I sang along to McBusted songs blaring out of a woman's phone - she'd just been to see the gig - not jealous at all....roll on Easter Saturday!
Sunday I packed up my stuff & headed back into Manchester to meet Mattay...not before I could take some photos of the awesome wallpaper in Michelle & Matt's home though before it gets ripped down! I loved it!

Mattay & I enjoyed re-fueling at Byron (where else?!) before going to the Museum of Science & Industry. I geeked out over the looms & he drooled over the steam engines & planes! What a pair! 

All too soon it was time to head back to the big smoke & Adam. S'long Manchester, I won't leave it so long next time!

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith.
