byker, byker, byker, grove yeah! ahha ahha ahha.....

cant sleep so thought id inform you of what ive been up to! had a nice few days in sunderland and newcastle. did a bit of walking, some sightseeing and visited quite a few shops (especially the metro centre!)! not sure what was wrong with me but i didnt find anything i liked in topshop *shock gasp* but i saw lots of shoes that i wanted in schuh (oh dear!). maybe my conscience is finally kicking in and my purse strings are tightening?! one thing i did still love about being up north was the geordie accent! mmm! hehe! too many chavs but if you closed your eyes they all sounded great!

came home today. had a very smooth journey - caught the train at newcastle, when i got to derby the next one was waiting, then the same happened in leicester and when i walked from hinckley station to get the bus that was also waiting! not bad eh?! i was then supposed to blitz my room cos it was a tip ready for michelle to stay for the night, instead i got distracted on the internet and ended up piling everything into boxes and putting them in mum n dads room (they're still up north) ready to sort tomorrow!

had a really nice time with michelle, a good old fashioned sleepover although shes asleep upstairs while im wide awake at 5am! doh! off to lufbra again tomorrow to meet up with some more peep ive not seen yet, then ive gotta get ready for my birthday! yaya! it feels like ive waited aages to be 21 but at last ive made it (well i will have on sunday!) woohoo! hehe.

right better go and try and sleep i guess

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith. Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent
