I won't send roses....

Image
though I will take you to a beautiful flower market & let you have the pick of the bunch.  Adam got me up bright and early (never knew 7am existed on a Sunday) & took me to Columbia Road Flower Market. It was lovely having a potter around & as well as flowers we ended up leaving with a new 'P' light. Yay for London days out! Ttfn x

High Tea for Two.

Image
Last weekend we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at the Sanctum Soho Hotel (see link HERE & menu HERE ). The reason we chose this place was the fact they did a "Gents Afternoon Tea" for the blokes & a "High Tea For High Heels" for the ladies. Normally I like to think myself more laddy than lady but it was ture - I preferred the look of the girly one, mainly because there was a scone with jam & cream on mine & not on Adams! It also meant we could chop & change the savoury dishes to give me all the fishy thing (including an amazing Bloody Mary Oyster) while Adam had the meaty bits. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was tea & coffee wasn't unlimited so we ended up paying just under £4 each for a second tea & coffee. Hmm. After the food we were given a glass of champers (for me) & a tankard of Gentleman Jack & a cigar (for Adam). While we enjoyed the drinks at the hotel we took the cigar home & tr...

This time 2 years ago....

Image
I was getting ready to dye my hair pink before I walked down the aisle to go from Miss P to Mrs P. Two. whole. years! Crazy! We got up early this morning to do presents. Adam got me a "cotton" apron with sausage dogs on (so cute & will stop me ruining clothes when I 'cook'!) & I made a "cotton" cross stitch of us on our wedding day... I bought the pattern from Etsy (see link HERE ),  all I had to do was send a photo of us & everything was customised to fit & even our little inflatable pug was added! It took me a bit longer than expected because I only had the odd 5min before I picked Adam up from the station or did a bit during lunch at work but I eventually got there! So 2 years down, many many more to go. Love you Mr P! x This post also ties in nicely with the last of Susannah's August Break challenge - "love" - perfick! - see more info  HERE Ttfn x

Here's to 40 more!

Image
Last month ma&pa celebrated their Ruby Wedding Anniversary - wow! I tell you, if Adam & I are half as happy & lovey dovey as they are in 40years I'll be a happy lady! I booked us a table at Tropiero a Brazilian meat buffet restaurant. We had 12 different meats to chose from ranging from ribs, to steak, to sausages & chicken hearts. Waiters brought each meat round on a skewer & depending if your little card was red (I'm stuffed) or green (keep it coming! Guess which mine was on all the time?!) they served it straight onto your plate. I think I managed about 10 of the 12 meats - disappointing I know, will try harder next time I promise! After dinner ma&pa swapped gifts & Aunty B gave them the red glass vase that she'd given to my grandparents on their 40th Wedding Anniversary :) The next day it was all hands on deck as it was time for a traditional Plumpy BBQ. As you can see only a few people turned up(!)  Thankfully the weather held out ...

Mission accomplished

Image
Adam & I achieved something I never thought was possible at the weekend....we went round Ikea & didn't argue once! We even giggled at times....shocking I know! I think this proves that we have an uber marriage, not that I mean to gloat or anything! Ttfn x

2 little toys for 2 big kids!

Image
These 2 little guys were a cause for yet another mad dash to McDs the other night! We saw on twitter that Luigi & Yoshi were part of this week's Happy Meal so we dashed to our nearest Golden Arches to find it shut....panic! Then we remembered one near our old house drove there to find they only had Yoshi & had sold out of Luigi....cue more panic, finally we remembered another one nearer our new home & phew they had Luigi! The whole time we sat in the car giggling like loons! Gotta love these late night random trips to get 2 little toys for 2 big kids! Ttfn x

it's the little things...

Image
This cup reminded me of why I love Mr P as much as I do.... Yesterday I found out McDs had the Batman Lego cup Happy Meal....when I told Adam last night we couldn't possibly wait till today so put dinner on hold, leaped in the car & drove towards the Golden Arches! All for one Lego cup that wouldn't mean much to some people, but to my hubby it made his night! It's the little things like that...(& I know I'd be equally excited about other things)...that make us perfect! Sorry for the soppiness but it made my night! Ttfn x

Holding out for a hero....

Image
Well this time 7 years ago I was....I was standing outside the Hippodrome waiting to meet this guy I'd met on MySpace (retro or what?!) wondering whether he was a Catfish or not (how awesome is that show?!). But guess what....I was one of the lucky ones! Yay! 7 years - wow how time flies! On one hand I can't imagine my life without Adam (sorry should have warned you you'd need your sick buckets!), on the other it feels like only yesterday I was telling my flatmate I was off to meet a guy in London & she (along with dad) insisted I gave them both his number in case he was dodgy. We had an awesome first date starting off with a pint of ale followed by tickets to Spamalot - he was a keeper for sure folks!  Now here we are further down the line - married, about to buy our second home & still together after a trip to Ikea - this relationship is made of strong stuff folks! :P  I also can't believe it was 3 years ago yesterday that he proposed....I still get...

Smug married - 1 year on.

Image
A few weeks ago it was our wedding anniversary (now if I felt old saying I was married, I feel even older now I actually have a wedding anniversary!) We started the weekend celebrations on Saturday as I held my traditional "P in the park" (thanks Slink!) at Hyde Park. The weather behaved as we all relaxed in the sunshine. The theme was pink & green seeing as it was our anniversary weekend (I don't think I could have worn any more pink if I'd tried!). It all went swimmingly till I was stung by a wasp (first time ever) now I don't know if I was just being a brave soldier or if it was the ale numbing the pain (I think we know the answer!) but thankfully it didn't hurt as much as I'd feared all these years. Phew! The next day (our actual anniversary) I'd booked afternoon tea at Sketch (see HERE ). I knew quite a few people who'd been & it didn't disappoint! The decor was amazing (it changes every January apparently) &...

The key to my heart

Image
Wandering around Covent Garden last Saturday I was greeted with a big wire heart & the word 'love' covered in hearts & padlocks. When I looked closer I saw it was for the British Heart Foundation & all you had to do was pay £3 for a metal heart & padlock & write a message. Being the sucker I am (& the fact it was for charidee!) I couldn't resist! There were all kinds of messages in all different languages & it was great fun reading them all & adding my little one to the bunch. Ttfn x

SUPRISE!

Image
Yesterday we had a little surprise party for Jill & Keith's 60th & 70th birthday, this is how they took it.... It was great getting together to surprise them & it gave us a chance to say thanks for everything, I'm really lucky to have such a lovely 'in-law' family. :) It was fun to get little Lumix out too for a few cheeky snaps. Only 9 sleeps to go! Woop! Ttfn x

Minimoon Monday - cows, flowers, devils & more sand

Image
I can't believe I've reached the end of our Minimoon Monday series. Thanks for sticking with me through it all & hopefully it'll make you want to visit the fab place that is Jersey soon?! We realised we were about to leave without any photos of Jersey cows (shocking I know!) so when we passed by a field of them we had to stop to say hi. Adam has never been very good with nature being a Town Mouse after all so no sooner had he walked up to the field he was stung by nettles & then when he reached out to stroke a cow he got an electric shock off the fence! Oh dear! After I'd stopped giggling & Adam's arm had stopped shaking we noticed all the cows were walking away from us & towards a tourist bus, it was hilarious they way they all stood there & stared at the bus while everyone on the bus sat & stared at them & took photos! I don't know who was more fascinated! Our next stop was the Battle of the Flowers Museum. Next time we he...

Minimoon Monday - a bit of exploring & a lot of sunshine

Image
We couldn't believe we'd been in Jersey for 6days & not had a proper cream tea in a tea room! Adam had seen that there was a vintage one in St Helier so after a bit of Saturday morning shopping we decided to head there for a homemade scone & a cuppa all served in wonderfully mismatched china surrounded by vintage clothing & music. It was a bit out of the way but well worth the hunt so don't miss it! The owner was really friendly & recommended loads of places to go & things to see, sadly it was our penultimate day so we didn't have much time to do them all but it's added things to our list of things to do when we come back! Adam got all celebratory when we passed through Liberation Square & joined in with the people cheering! Talking of Liberation.... ....we stopped off for a cheeky pint of Liberation Ale. The pub was a proper old mans pub & the beams were decorated with beer mats. Perfick! Seeing as our Jersey Pass had run ...

Minimoon Monday - wine, golf, ice cream & sunsets

Image
After our usual breakfast we set off to La Mare wine estate which was easier said than done with Jersey's tiny winding roads mixed with a dodgy map & limited sign posts! I tell you if you can drive around Jersey as a newly married couple with only a basic map & not fly home divorced you've got a pretty rock solid relationship! :P Anyway, eventually we made it & went on a great tour learning about (& eating/drinking) everything from wine, champagne, liqueur, chocolate, fudge & jams! After a walk around the vineyards we grabbed a cream tea & wrote some postcards for the folks back home to tell them what a miserable time we'd been having ;) On the way back to St Helier we stopped off for a game of crazy golf. Seeing as I'd let Adam win the previous day at bowling he decided to let me win today. How sweet! Our next stop was the swimming pool at St Helier (I tell you this Jersey Pass gets you into everywhere!). This wasn't just any swimmi...
