So much for updating this blog more regularly! Yoink!  In a nutshell, life has changed again...  I was made redundant in August, I knew I wasn't happy in my job but it still hit me like a tonne of bricks. I'd been working in the fashion industry for 15years, now the rug had been taken out from under me it gave me the fresh start I obviously needed. I was left with no work or home ties to London and so decided to relocate to the Midlands. I started to apply for jobs and found one that seemed perfect, a studio assistant role on minimum wage, I went for the interview and found out the next day I hadn't got that job, but the boss had wanted to employ me as her PA / Project developer, it was a dream job come true! All that organisation with creative bits thrown in! Huzzah! I've been working there a month and a half and I'm loving it, the people are lovely, the job is great, and the embroidery product is beautiful. Now I'm in a job I love again Positive Parker has sta...

Following on from my FOMO post last week I've been finding my "One Second A Day" monthly movies even more important. Sadly my I lost my May one due to my phone breaking but here's what I got up to in June... Thursday night Ceroc fun... Friday Night Spoons... Coin collecting with the in-laws... card games and silly hats...  Monday attitude... going off grid... English pints with American friends... Best. T-shirt. Ever! - if Belinda Blinked means nothing to you... don't worry!... Sausage and Cider fest with the uni gang... Miami Vice theme pug party... MDWAP... Being asked to be a Taxi Dancer for my local Ceroc group (meaning I help the beginner dancers and run a review class with a few other taxi dancers each time)... doggy mayhem in the office... watching Tommy the musical and playing pinball in the interval... first BBQ of the year - whoop... India Girlies catch up... Marylebone Street Fayre dancing in the streets... "spa day" in the paddling pool.....

BRING ON 2016!

Image
I’ve gotta feelin (whooo-oooh) that 2016 is going to a be a good year. Whoop! We had a great New Year seeing dad for his birthday then heading to Art & Sam’s for a few days. I’m a little bit behind with my resolutions this year – not because they’re anything amazing or deep I’m just lazy! So here goes.... 1.I AIM TO BE HEALTHIER I’m not going to write “gym” or “lose weight” cos we know that ain’t gonna happen on it’s own! I want to get back into the gym routine....eat a few more salads & less McDs....but lets’ just keep it all under the HEALTHIER KTP banner then it doesn’t sound as scary! 2.I WILL REMEMBER TO TAKE A SHOPPING BAG WITH ME WHEN WE GO OUT Yes I have one in the car but I still forget to bring it into the shops with me. So instead of paying 5p for a bag I end up trying to juggle a mountain of stuff dropping it (& yes smashing bits) on the way....when will I learn?! 3.WE WILL HAVE 1 WEEKEND A MONTH AT HOME I’m guilty of booking us ...

Man I feel old! Went to a wedding yesterday with some of the old Uni gang & now we're paying for having such a good time! What happened to feeling rough for a few hours then bouncing back?! So far all we've managed to do is head to the Harvester for lunch & man that took effort! The rest of the day has been spent dozing in front of the tv wrapped in blankets & warm jumpers. Oh to be an 18year old student again! Ttfn x

After a lazy start & a bleary eyed farewell to Ross & Ola it was time to head out for a New Years Day walk & where better - yup you guessed it - the beach! The weather was stunning & it felt amazing to be so far away from everything. After the "Goodbye 2012" message the previous day we thought we'd write a "Hello 2013" in driftwood so after a few pics we decided to try a jumping shoot but this time with me in it too. Sadly I didn't have my tripod but then Art & Sam came to the rescue & built this awesome tripod / horse thing! Mattay & I set our cameras on timer bursts & ran back & forth between jumping & clicking & I really love the end results! While we we back at the hostel we noticed a lovely sunset so all rushed out with our cameras & clicked away. After enjoying such a pretty sunset we decided to head down the local pub where we played cards (we weren't allowed the darts, think the...

New Years Eve & what better way to blast the cobwebs of last year away than a coastal cliff-top walk?! Above is our operations room where Sargent Swarbs prepared the troops for the day's plan of action. First stop was the beach again & seeing as Ross & Ola had joined us what better than a group jumping shot & a fond farewell to 2012? We then set off on a long walk to blow away the cobwebs around the coastal path. At the start of the walk Mattay had produced a beautiful wide angle lens for his little Lumix (another convert thanks to me!) & I promptly shotgunned it for the walk (cheers Mattay, it must have been the only child syndrome kicking in!), I'm totally in love with some of the results & it's definitely on my 'to buy list' & fairly near the top! The walk was stunning & we were lucky with the weather too. We finally reached the end point & after spotting a few seals it was time to head home for more toa...

Yes yes I know it's February but just take a step back in time with me to see what we got up to over New Year! Better late than never eh?! Art & I have always chatted about going away somewhere with some of the uni lot for a decent amount of time rather than just a weekend & it turned out that December 29th 2012 was that time! We booked out the whole of a youth hostel (see link HERE ) in Marloes Sands on the Pembrookshire coast in Wales for 5 days & it was brill! There were 8 of us (Art, Sam, Mattay, Bec, Ross, Ola, Adam & I) & it felt great to all be together again just like in Lufbra. Once we'd all emerged it was time to explore & next to the house was a footpath leading down to the beach & boy was it pretty. I haven't really been on many beaches when it's dull & cloudy but this kind of weather was my fave & I got some lovely shots (also the sand was damp so I didn't have to moan about sand between my toes!). Aft...

Yesterday it was mum's turn to celebrate the big 6-0 & what a jam-packed weekend it was! I'd taken Friday off to travel up to Lufbra with Lisa & Jenna for them to try on their bridesmaid dresses & for me to see mine after a few tweaks. It was great to see their outfits in dress form & not a swatch of fabric & a rough pencil sketch (thankfully they look really great so can't wait to see everyone in them on the day!). I also tried my dress on again which was a bit snug today the least! Yoink! Hopefully that's given me enough motivation to watch what I eat rather than my complete lack of will power! On Saturday evening ma&pa had a joint 60th birthday party at home which was really good fun! Most of the teachers (& ex-teachers) I'd not seen in years so it was fun to catch up & the birthday boy & gal had fun too. We didn't end up going to bed till about 1:30am, I swear ma&pa are dirtier stoppy outers than Adam & I ...

Nigel's Stag Do pt3

(see pt1 & pt2 if you missed them)Most of the gang were all from Lufbra so we (well I) decided to visit some old haunts. The first stop was The Orange Tree. It's the one bar I really miss in London. If I could pick it up & bring it back with me I would. I had to start the night with a typical circle of faces pics We got the night going with a few drinking games that were definitely fixed for me to loose, the fact Ross had bought me a Katy cider that was 7.4% didn't help either Once we left the Orange Tree I was rather merry(!), we popped into Spoons for some cheaper alchofrol (& ale!) which I threw all over the floor (blue screen moment!) before dragging the boys into Echos. It's hard to believe it but even in my wonderful attire I got asked for ID (they were probably hoping I was underage so they could turn me away!). Inside it was just as bad (great) as we'd remembered & we ended up heading into the side room cos we didn't know any ...
