After the hustle and bustle of Michelle and Matt's wedding we decided to escape for a few days and went to Amsterdam... yup you guessed it... cue another One Second... come fly with me... cheeky pint... emergency exit briefing... off we go... soggy city walks... gem of a burger bar... swapping salad for chips (do I look like a salad gal?!)... morning walks... crazy crossings... confusingly posh tea... Anne Frank's House... special coffee shop... even more special brownie... sunny city walks... a not so special coffee shop... Amsterdammmm... brill Banksy exhibition... chilling on a grassy roof... evening strolls... matching anniversary cards (great minds think alike)... man walking a fridge... tulips... heading for the station... healthy lunch stop... Last weekend we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at the Sanctum Soho Hotel (see link HERE & menu HERE ). The reason we chose this place was the fact they did a "Gents Afternoon Tea" for the blokes & a "High Tea For High Heels" for the ladies. Normally I like to think myself more laddy than lady but it was ture - I preferred the look of the girly one, mainly because there was a scone with jam & cream on mine & not on Adams! It also meant we could chop & change the savoury dishes to give me all the fishy thing (including an amazing Bloody Mary Oyster) while Adam had the meaty bits. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was tea & coffee wasn't unlimited so we ended up paying just under £4 each for a second tea & coffee. Hmm. I was getting ready to dye my hair pink before I walked down the aisle to go from Miss P to Mrs P. Two. whole. years! Crazy! We got up early this morning to do presents. Adam got me a "cotton" apron with sausage dogs on (so cute & will stop me ruining clothes when I 'cook'!) & I made a "cotton" cross stitch of us on our wedding day... I bought the pattern from Etsy (see link HERE ),  all I had to do was send a photo of us & everything was customised to fit & even our little inflatable pug was added! It took me a bit longer than expected because I only had the odd 5min before I picked Adam up from the station or did a bit during lunch at work but I eventually got there! A few weeks ago it was our wedding anniversary (now if I felt old saying I was married, I feel even older now I actually have a wedding anniversary!) We started the weekend celebrations on Saturday as I held my traditional "P in the park" (thanks Slink!) at Hyde Park. The weather behaved as we all relaxed in the sunshine. The theme was pink & green seeing as it was our anniversary weekend (I don't think I could have worn any more pink if I'd tried!). It all went swimmingly till I was stung by a wasp (first time ever) now I don't know if I was just being a brave soldier or if it was the ale numbing the pain (I think we know the answer!) but thankfully it didn't hurt as much as I'd feared all these years. Phew! The next day (our actual anniversary) I'd booked afternoon tea at Sketch (see HERE ). I knew quite a few people who'd been & it didn't disappoint! The last couple of weeks have been spent trying to plan our belated honeymoon. We’d set our sights on 2/3 weeks in Japan but it turns out Japan’s a rather expensive place! Hence these pictures of us emptying our jar of change that sits in the corner of the lounge – you’d be surprised how much was in there! We kind of knew it would be an expensive trip, but with the amount of money we’d kindly got from our wedding guests we thought we’d be high & dry. Turns out that we just have enough for one of us to go on a guided tour for 7days! After Adam very kindly offered to go & promised he’d Skype everyday we reluctantly turned back to the drawing board for ideas. Boo! We had a few backups that would be fun (but nothing compared to Japan) so we mooched around the interwebs trying to find a solution. Now I think we’ve found one! Last Sunday Adam picked me up bright & early from Becca's Hen Party to get to Belle's Bridal Boot Fair in Hove. Our aim was to sell as much wedding stuff as possible so we'd have a few more pennies to spend on our Japan Honeymoon later in the year. The first things to fly out were the jamjars that we'd collected to serve our 'P' cocktail in, we had over 100 & they'd all gone in 30min! We also managed to sell our picture frame, the vintage suitcase & some bunting as well as handing out loads of Adam's business cards for commissioned posters & wedding stationary. After the initial rush at the start I think the crappy weather kept quite a few people away but we still managed to make about £70 :) It was good fun chatting to brides-to-be about their special days & what they were planning. Put that planning book away & head down to Belle's Bridal Boot Fair this Sunday in Hove. It's a great chance to pick up some bargains for your big day! There'll be a mix of old & new as previous brides sell things they no longer need & suppliers sell end-of-line products. I'll be there with Adam, ma&pa selling a variety of things from our wedding including: ~ roughly 100 jam jars ~ melted vinyl bowls ~ various A1 posters ~ approx 150mtr of bunting as well as spare fabric triangles ~ & even a spare wedding dress! I'm back baby! After taking an unwanted break from Jive since the wedding (I still have a black toenail but it's not gonna take away my fun any longer!) I popped down to Oval last night for my first JiveNation class of the year & boy was it ace! It's always fun to catch up with familiar faces & on top of that I had some brilliant dances! I was a bit rusty at first but once I'd dusted away the cobwebs from the 'jive' section of my brain & I remembered what a smoothback was I was laughing! I'll just leave you with a video of Max & I jiving our little hearts out at the wedding. I might not be the greatest dancer in the world but I love every second of every dance & that's what matters right?! It also helps when you have a proper twirly princess dress on! ;) Ttfn x

What better way to end my Wedding Wednesday series with a Trash The Dress shoot?! I'd always dreamed of trashing my dress after our wedding (as you do!) but didn't think we'd have enough money to afford the shoot, that was until I saw the competition on Rock&Roll Bride last year. To cut a long story short (see more of it HERE !) I won & Emily from the fab Photographic Blonde (link HERE ) arranged the shoot. We were all set to do it 2 weeks after our wedding (so thankfully I'd still fit in the dress(!)) & it helped to carry on the wedding excitement that bit longer! I met up with her to discuss my crazy, colourful ideas mid last year & we got really excited thinking about everything. It was fun to bounce ideas off someone new & who was as excited about this as I was! Adam & I met Emily at her flat which was so wonderfully pristine & white when we started but I'm sure after we came back & showered it wasn't quite the sam...

Firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR READERS! x While the YMCA, Superman Song & Macarena blasted out from the dancefloor our guests found another way of expressing themselves....in our Silly Space. It was such a big hit & everyone had a great time dressing up in all the props. Chris Barber also had a great idea to take the conga through it.... This picture below is the only silly pic that I'm in with all my uni mates! I was too busy having fun dancing to go in but Adam made the most of it that's for sure! Just as Chris started to pack everything away Adam & I realised we hadn't even posed in there together so we grabbed this quick shot.... As 2012 comes to a close & we all get ready to welcome in 2013 I thought I'd do a quick review looking back at my resolutions. *taking the whole 'married couple' title to the extreme!*  All in all 2012's been a pretty ace year! I started it a Miss & ended it as a Mrs (not that you'd be able to tell from my blog name, I'll get round to it one day honest!), which brings me nicely onto my first resolution.... ~ get married. TICK! Still doesn't always feel real, though I've just got my new bank cards through with my new name on & my passport's been changed so it's slowly sinking in. It was so fun getting a husband card for Adam this year & referring to each other as The Ps (twee but we like it!!). ~ pay off credit card. TICK & RUB OUT A BIT. I managed to get everything paid off & it felt brill. A few bits crept on there towards the end of the year (I did the stupid "I'll pay it off at the end ...

After W.I.T struck their last chord our guests all turned round to find the back wall had vanished & there was an ice cream standing in it's place! If only we had a photo of their faces & a record of their comments, it was brilliant! No one could quite believe it but the queue grew as people lined up with their vouchers for their 99! They were also treated to our signature cocktail 'The P' (a.k.a Strawberry Daiquiri!) served in jam jars with glittery stars in the top. The drinks went down so well they ran out & had to go & buy new ingredients during the night! No disco would be complete without a bit of Steps dancing so we made the most of Tragedy as well as an 8min Steps megamix later on in the night! The boys all had fun too & spent quite a bit of time on the dancefloor, whether it was moshing or giving Adam or I the bumps they were there! After our first dance & parents dance it was time to let our hair down & enjoy a big old partay! After a bit of a boogie it was time for W.I.T (Adam's band) to rock their socks off & get us in the mood. For me the best part was "Rockin' All Over The World" by Status Quo, I've been to see them a few times with ma&pa in the past & used to be rocked to sleep to them as a baby so ma, pa & I were straight up on the dancefloor doing the elbow dance thing for.the.whole.song! I'm sure it doesn't normally go on for that long but we were troopers & made it all the way! One thing I regret not doing is getting the whole set on video but thankfully some people recorded bits.... As well as playing one of their own songs they played a few other covers such as "I Gotta Feeling," "Summer of 69" & "Trippin' Down The Freeway" It was great to be able to add a more rockier aspect to our day without ...

We like to think the music we had at our wedding reflected us as a couple really well & with this in mind we wanted to make sure we picked our First dance & Parent's Dance carefully & didn't end up with a generic song that didn't mean much to us. After a lot of thought we decided on The Gaslight Anthem's "Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts," the words were lovely & we've both followed Gaslight almost as long as we've been going out! After sweet talking Adam we had a few little jive classes with the wonderfully talented Kev & Aggie who I've been lucky enough to get to know through Jive & who have been taking competitions by storm this year (they're multiple Freestyle & Showcase Champions)! Definitely check them out if you want some private lessons. They were great fun & tailor your dance to match your needs. As the sun was starting to sink lower in the sky we managed to sneak out for a few more photos around the venue.  Being on an industrial estate the surroundings wouldn't have been to everyone's taste but seeing as we were being photographed by Mr Wall-Master-Extraordinaire  Chris Barber he was in his element! We couldn't resist taking little pug out for a walk too! After dodging under a closed gate (yes in my dress!) Chris got us to climb the steps to the top of the fire escape. It was at this point Adam decided to Tell Chris he didn't like heights! He did really well though & I love this little section of photos! Anyone who knows me knows I'm rubbish at jumping photos so Chris got me to stand there & look pretty while Adam climbed the ladder at the side & jumped off! He nearly broke his ankles as he landed funny on a ridge on the floor but it would have been worth it for these pics in my opinion!! Ttfn x

After our sneaky cream tea we had enough time to have a quick run through of the first dance seeing as we'd only practised it in normal clothes & not a big floaty dress & heels! After spending the previous day setting the room up we'd thought it looked great then but once the balloons were in place & the lights were one it looked amazing (if I do say so myself!) One tradition we decided to keep was the line up & I'm so glad we did. It gave us a chance to say a proper hello to each & every person (all 139 of them!). After everyone was seated & ready for some more grub Mr & Mr P were announced into the room! Yay! One way we saved a few pennies was to serve the wedding cake as pudding so before we sat down to eat we cut the cake. How great did it look with everyone's names on it?!
