So much for updating this blog more regularly! Yoink!  In a nutshell, life has changed again...  I was made redundant in August, I knew I wasn't happy in my job but it still hit me like a tonne of bricks. I'd been working in the fashion industry for 15years, now the rug had been taken out from under me it gave me the fresh start I obviously needed. I was left with no work or home ties to London and so decided to relocate to the Midlands. I started to apply for jobs and found one that seemed perfect, a studio assistant role on minimum wage, I went for the interview and found out the next day I hadn't got that job, but the boss had wanted to employ me as her PA / Project developer, it was a dream job come true! All that organisation with creative bits thrown in! Huzzah! I've been working there a month and a half and I'm loving it, the people are lovely, the job is great, and the embroidery product is beautiful. One minute I'm ok, all Positive Parker, being a lockdown lady of leisure... the next I'm in a muddle, feeling totally overwhelmed and being a total Negative Nelly. It's exhausting. I know I'm not the only one feeling like this on an emotional rollercoaster but wow! Friday was a particularly bad one, I got the news I knew would be coming but was clinging onto a tiny (unrealistic) slither of hope that it would be ok, my trip to Berlin with 2 of my Frank Turner Fangirls was cancelled, first the flights, then Frank announced the 4day festival Lost Evenings was cancelled, then I had to sort my hotel cancellation. All 3 of us knew it was coming but it was a sad day, at least we're planning for Lost Evenings 5 to be one hell of a celebration, even if it's in Australia (side note - please don't be in Oz, I can't afford it!!). On top of this my Lewis Capaldi gig in July was cancelled as well as the Kasabian gig in June. As a busy social butterfly I'm fin...

Wow where did the last 6months go?! So far 2018 has been an ace one... not stopped as usual... but loved it all the same!  At the end of June Adam and I went to Russia with two friends... We went to Moscow and St Petersburg and we loved it. I knew it would be great but it was just so much nicer, friendlier and brighter than expected... check it out! late night flights... early morning landings... Greatest Showman binges (watched it 4 times in total - how amazing is this film?!)... lazy sleep breakfast... sunny morning walks... 40 winks on a park bench (due to 28hours of being awake!)... finally being able to check into our holiday apartment... another 40winks / 2hours kip... supermarket explorations... Bolshoi sightseeing... marvelous metro stations... jazzy shopping centers... twinkly lights everywhere... red square at night...  Day 2... wonderfully magical markets... pug cushion purchases... vodka for lunch... At the start of July we made our annual pilgrimage to NERG (North East Retro Gaming) up in Gateshead. Adam, Ash, Nick & I all met up Saturday morning at our hotel before heading straight to the International Stadium to game (& drink) the day away. And we did exactly that. This year they had linked with a local brewery & they'd made a special ale just for NERG. The show started at 10am, their first keg ran out at 11am, they had to send for backups - it was that good! In true KtP fashion I've done a 1SE video.... Saturday's part - NERG - lots of gaming and drinking, drinking and gaming, I slowly get more and more worse for wear as the day goes on! Thankfully Sunday is a lot calmer - Pokémon raid... then when the boys went back to NERG I visited the Baltic Gallery... caught up with Aunty Beryl... chilled out in the hotel bar... then played Exploding Kittens for about 4hours while drinking more ale... then headed home Monday morning. I've always wanted to visit Chelsea Flower show & this year I got the chance to tag along with mum, and my aunt & uncle. It was so nice to have a day off work, to chill out with mum, have a proper girly day and all with awesome weather to top it off! What better way to share it than... yup you guessed it... One Second A Day! Here's my little video to make you feel like you were there! Enjoy! Wasn't overly keen with the "Best in Show" garden but some of the other smaller ones were lovely, especially the 5 BBC Radio 2 sense gardens. Some of the flower arrangement tents were a bit too stuffy for me but I loved wandering around the huge marquee and seeing all the different flowers and plants there to buy, I could have bought so many Cacti! I even wandered on the Easigrass stand to check out the fake grass... watch this space, hopefully we'll have a lovely (fake) green lawn to enjoy sometime soon(ish)! We managed to enjoy one glass of overly-priced Pimm...

Following on from my FOMO post last week I've been finding my "One Second A Day" monthly movies even more important. Sadly my I lost my May one due to my phone breaking but here's what I got up to in June... Thursday night Ceroc fun... Friday Night Spoons... Coin collecting with the in-laws... card games and silly hats...  Monday attitude... going off grid... English pints with American friends... Best. T-shirt. Yesterday Lou and I had a photography day trip to Southend-on-Sea and it was great! Such a long overdue catch up. I took along an old Opus point and click as well as my new Lomography Fisheye and can't wait to see the results! In the meantime enjoy this One Second Everyday showing what we got up to... Last month we enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in Crete. We've never done a poolside holiday before & felt like we just really needed some R&R. We ended up being away from the hotel for 3 days but the majority was sat by the pool, dozing & reading. Lovely jubbley! Here's my little 1SE video to tell you all about it.... I’ve gotta feelin (whooo-oooh) that 2016 is going to a be a good year. Whoop! We had a great New Year seeing dad for his birthday then heading to Art & Sam’s for a few days. I’m a little bit behind with my resolutions this year – not because they’re anything amazing or deep I’m just lazy! So here goes.... 1.I AIM TO BE HEALTHIER I’m not going to write “gym” or “lose weight” cos we know that ain’t gonna happen on it’s own! I want to get back into the gym routine....eat a few more salads & less McDs....but lets’ just keep it all under the HEALTHIER KTP banner then it doesn’t sound as scary! 2.I WILL REMEMBER TO TAKE A SHOPPING BAG WITH ME WHEN WE GO OUT Yes I have one in the car but I still forget to bring it into the shops with me. So instead of paying 5p for a bag I end up trying to juggle a mountain of stuff dropping it (& yes smashing bits) on the way....when will I learn?! 3.WE WILL HAVE 1 WEEKEND A MONTH AT HOME I’m guilty of booking us ...
