So much for updating this blog more regularly! Yoink!  In a nutshell, life has changed again...  I was made redundant in August, I knew I wasn't happy in my job but it still hit me like a tonne of bricks. I'd been working in the fashion industry for 15years, now the rug had been taken out from under me it gave me the fresh start I obviously needed. I was left with no work or home ties to London and so decided to relocate to the Midlands. I started to apply for jobs and found one that seemed perfect, a studio assistant role on minimum wage, I went for the interview and found out the next day I hadn't got that job, but the boss had wanted to employ me as her PA / Project developer, it was a dream job come true! All that organisation with creative bits thrown in! Huzzah! I've been working there a month and a half and I'm loving it, the people are lovely, the job is great, and the embroidery product is beautiful. Now I'm in a job I love again Positive Parker has sta...

I've not blogged for a while - mainly due to the fact I've built up such a batch of things to blog about I have no idea where to start....so I'm starting from now...I might travel back in time & blog a few things here & there....I also might not...let's see.  My whole online presence has been taken over a bit by a certain Mr Tommy-Dog's Instagram account & his ever increasing followers (736 & growing!).....If you're not following & want to have a nosey click HERE   I'm going to make a real effort though to split my time between dog & human social media more evenly - promise Mr Watson! After off-loading my to do list on my last post I'm actually feeling a bit more positive & on top of more things than I'd realised... ~ get back into blogging - here I am! miss me?! ~ get a regular dancing routine going - I've actually been going to Ceroc classes for the past 2 months & I'm loving it. Last night was our...

#PoppyRun mission accomplished

Image
I did it! I actually managed to run 5k (yes run - the whole way!) in 35min. I still can't believe I managed it but I did & I've got the medal to prove it!!   Not sure when (or if) I'll do another one but it's something I always wondered if I'd be able to do & the answer was yes! I'm now just wondering how long can I drag on the "I've done a run hence I can eat anything?!" Thanks a bunch to everyone who's sponsored me & if you still want to click on the link HERE . Ttfn x

#PoppyRun / walk / run / walk

I can’t believe my first 5K run is in less than a week....I really hoped by now I’d be well into my training & enjoying having a target...well I’m not! I’m still only managing to complete the 5K in intervals. I think I naively thought I’d be able to do it without putting in extra training, instead I’ve been running 3min + fast paced walking 2min twice a week completing 5K in 40min & I’ve had nowhere near enough practice outside. But Hey, it’s too late now. I went to the gym this morning, I’ll go again on Friday morning & then I do the run Sunday.   So please think of me when you’re relaxing at home (probably still in bed) while I’ll be outside ready to take on my first ever run. It’ll be an experience & I’ve always wanted to try one, not sure I’ll do another but hey I gave it a go. I’ll update you next week. Yoink! Ttfn x p.s there's still time to sponsor me on the link HERE

P's progress

This morning I was back on the treadmill & it felt kinda good, not really god just kinda good. I didn't enjoy most of the time I was running but once I'd done I felt pretty chuffed with myself. I still can't manage to run the whole thing though, it was a mix of intervals (mainly running) but hey I still managed the 5k.   I think I've resigned to the fact I probably won't be able to run the full 5k (it's less than a month away) but I'm going to do my best to run most of it. If you wish to sponsor me my Just Giving page is HERE :) Ttfn x

The P's #Poppy Run

Image
"P doesn't do running" well now P, in a moment of madness has signed herself & Mr P up for the Poppy Run in October. Yoink! I always tell everyone that I don't like running, never have & never will (memories of the St Martins cross country spring to mind - always at the back & always moaning!). But after a good workout at the gym last week I thought it would be good to have something to aim towards & as if by magic the Royal British Legion tweeted about the 5K Poppy Run. It was meant to be. I signed both of us up straight away before I came to my senses & now we're doing it on the 26th October. The next morning at the gym I tried 5K on the treadmill to see if I could actually move my legs that far &  how long it would take, I didn't plan to run the whole thing & so after jogging for 1min 30 & walking for 1min 30 I managed 5K in 43min. I know running on a treadmill is completely different to running outside so the next...

Proud as punch

Last weekend as Mr P crossed the finishing line of his Half Marathon I thought my heart would burst with pride....I wanted to tell the world what a great job he'd done! We met 3 of Adam's work mates early last Sunday & set off to a chilly Richmond hoping for sunshine....we were granted a few rays of sun along with a few showers of hail in true British weather fashion. Once everyone had set off Art, Sam & I grabbed a cuppa to warm up before finding a spot at the 12mile mark to cheer people along. I was amazed how many runners had enough breath to say thanks as we clapped and/or shouted the names on their tops & a few gave grateful smiles as our claps brought a little spring to their step. All of a sudden a fluorescent yellow hat, trainers & a bright green 'For Jane' t-shirt came into view & we cheered Adam along...I was amazed he was still smiling - I'd have been crawling at the start, let alone after 12miles! After that, as we walked to ...

"Start just outside your comfort zone..."

Image
said my spinning instructor...considering I'm sitting on a bike at 6:50am while it's still dark outside....I'd consider myself well & truly out of my comfort zone without even peddling thanks! Feel pretty good about it now, though I do have wobbly jelly legs! Ttfn x

It's the cardboard diet...

Image
Otherwise known as an Advent Calendar. Who knew an easily opened  little cardboard door holds the power to stop me snacking.. Leave a bar of choc in the lounge, kitchen or even hidden away I'll sniff it out & gobble it up like it's going out of fashion...put little chunks behind numbered doors & I act like a proper adult with marvelous restraint! I love how my little mind works! Ttfn x

Getting rid of my rolls

Image
In more than one sense.... Yesterday I enrolled in a gym! :-) my induction is on Wednesday & I can't wait to just get on with it! My last attempt at joining a gym didn't really go to plan so here's to a fresh start & a fitter me. I also decided it was time tiger my many rolls of film developed. Finally! Sorry Lou I know you've been waiting for ages! I can't wait to get them all back (all 13 of them!) & bore *ahem* I mean share them with you all soon. Whoop! Hope y'all enjoyed the sunshine this weekend. We had a bit-too-busy walk round Brick Lane before heading home & getting ready for the week ahead. Ttfn x
