Voice of an Angel?!

We had our 9 lessons & carols at church tonight, as well as reading I was dragged into the choir to warble along the descents with the best of them! After a shaky start I made sure I let it rip on "O Come All Ye Faithful!" I love this time of year! Ttfnx

it's the most wonderful time of the year

Image
Well hello Christmas....where did you spring from?! I swear 2015 has only lasted about 3 months....but hey...it's that time of year again....the tree's up....the lights are on....the candle's lit....the tinsel is sparkling  (& smelling amazing - seriously, why does it smell so good?!) & Tommy's rocking his special outfit. We've already been out for one Christmas party & here's to many, many more. Can't wait to celebrate it as a little family of 3 this year! Ttfnx

That's it for another year

Image
*sigh* can't believe Chrimbo's over for another year! I think next year it should last the whole week...I'd be well up for long lie ins, muddy country walks, catch ups with mates & most importantly no work for a full 7days....not sure my boss would be too chuffed though, shot not asking him! Christmas Day & Boxing day were quiet affairs with mum, dad & Adam, it came at the perfect time after a busy few weeks at work & I made the most of late nights, late mornings & yummy food all while sitting in my onesie! I even did some knitting for a friend as well as trying my best not to fall over on a muddy walk in nearby fields (not in my onesie!)....gotta love country life! Throughout the rest of the week (in between working - boo!) we caught up with friends & family & rung in the New Year at Nick & Lisa's....Brandon & Isabelle managed to stay up till midnight & the six of us all wished each other a Happy New Year while watch...

Chrimbo with The Parkers

Image
I was nervous about my first Christmas without ma&pa & spending it with the in-laws but I didn't need to worry! Yes it was different from our quiet Christmases with just the 3 of us in front of the tv, watching the Queen & going for a walk by the canal, but that was it, it was different. One isn't better than the other & they're both as special to me as the other. It took pretty much all day for the kids to open their presents, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they were still opening them now! It was fun being there to capture the excitement (& controlled mayhem!). We sat down to the biggest roast ever cooked by Lisa as we rocked our his & her Christmas jumpers (we're a true married couple now!). After letting dinner go down it was time to cut the cake & microwave the Christmas pudding, the cake was yummy but the pudding didn't quite go to plan as the bottom melted all over one of Brandon's plates! Yoink! Cheers Asda! ...

who's a lucky girl then?!

Image
Generally I don't post about my Chrimbo gifts but there were 2 luverly necklaces I had to shout about! Firstly Adam got me a really cute button necklace from the rather fab Thimble & Fred (check out their site HERE ). They also threw in some festive button hair slides & their branding made it a joy to open from start to finish! Check them out if you're looking for a gift for someone special. I also got new snug slippers from Adam (see top left, he'd wrapped them individually so it took me a while till I got the second matching one!). Secondly I got this ace unicorn necklace from Liz (at Distract Me Now Please ). It was part of the Blogger Secret Santa set up by Charlotte from t*rexes and tiaras . I'd never done one before but it was good fun buying for someone you only knew through their blog & email info! So thanks a bunch Liz & thanks to Charlotte for setting it up. I hope my present was well received to my girl too! I hope y'all did ...

Christmas came early

Our first Chrimbo as a married couple! Also it's the first time we'll be spending the whole festive time together. The whole driving up to ma&pa's Chrimbo Eve then Adam leaving early Chrimbo morning to see his folks while I stayed with mine is long gone! This year I'll be spending it with the in-laws & it's my first ever Chrimbo without ma&pa. I won't say I'm not nervous about it, what with different traditions & ways of doing things & being surrounded by kids, it'll definitely be different but still as special. Ma&Pa came down for an early Chrimbo last Friday & as soon as I'd logged off my work computer & turned on my out of office (with a 12day holiday ahead of me woop!) we set off to see the Turner Prize. It wasn't the best we've seen by far! The winner (Elizabeth Price's) video installations were good but I really liked Paul Noble's drawings, they were so detailed & I could have looked at ...

Out Of Office 'till 2013!

Image
Well if you're reading this I guess the world didn't end after all! Today is my last day at work for 2012 Huzzah! I plan to make the most of my lie ins & to take Little Lumix (& as many of my other toy cameras as I can carry) out wherever I go. Woop! Work's been really busy what with moving, working on the new collection & (most importantly) making sure all our Chrimbo gifts go out in time! My desk has been a wash of gift wrap & tartans so although we haven't got any decorations around (apart from a chain made out of Quality Street wrappers!) I've still felt festive. I'm hoping to take a bit of a break from the interwebs till the New Year, but don't fret (as if you were!), I've got a few posts lined up & yes finally the end of my "Wedding Wednesday" is in sight. Thanks for sticking with me even though it was probably a bit boring at times! I've always used my blog as a diary that you lucky people get to have a s...

and I thought Santa was busy at this time of year?!

Image
It's gone crazy! I'm so busy at the moment. I had a mega stress a few days ago that my Christmas cards weren't even written yet (this comes from the girl who writes them in November usually)! I got the last one written last night, I've just got a few gifts left to buy then I'm done. Phew! I'm not sure if any of you are taking part in the Christmas Jumper Day for Save The Children (info HERE ) but I thought it would be a good way to get everyone a bit more festive in the office so I set off to work today in my wonderful Primarni jumper with added tinsel! There's only 5 of us in the office so they won't be rolling in money from our donation but I guess every little helps! Speaking of office...we've moved finally! Huzzah! We're actually in the centre of London now. My commute has been cut down buy at least an hour (it was almost 2hrs before!) which is brill & the area's got such a lovely vibe. Trouble is, instead of just having a Sai...

It's Christmas!

Image
Finally! I know it's not that late arriving but for me it is! I've been waiting all week to decorate our tree & give our little home a festive makeover & here it is.... Better late than never eh?! I'd wanted to do it last week but seeing as the tree was in the coal shed without being wrapped in a bag or box (thanks to the leak from downstairs earlier in the year) I chickened out getting it when I saw a huge cobweb on it & gave Adam 2 options - either buy a new tree or hoover this one till we could be sure there weren't any spiders/other creatures living in it! He went down today all brave to get it out but when he saw it was at the back, looking a bit dusty & with a few rat droppings round it (joy) we decided to dash to Homebase before it closed! We ended up getting a really nice half price tree which is the same size as our other one but a bit bushier. I ended up spending the rest of the afternoon decorating the lounge & adding out new wedding d...

boxing day take two

Yesterday ma, pa & I headed down to Aunty Del & Uncle Pete's for some long overdue family time. My cousin David was back over from Germany for a bit & Becs came round with Luke & Amelia. We hadn't all been together since Amelia's Christening so it was great to relax with everyone & catch up properly. Amelia's grown up so much & she has this lovely little toothy smile which makes her nose scrunch up as well. She's such a cutie! Luke & Becs seemed to be doing really well too, parenting really suits them & everyone was so sweet playing with Amelia, she was good as gold & they deserve to be very proud parents. It then came to present time, the most exciting time for a kid cos that means box time! Amelia loved the noises daddy's bottles of beer made as they clanged together & then discovered the box of unwanted gift wrap - what more could a little girl want?! Christmas must be such an exciting time for a little person &...

Happy Holidays!

Image
Well that's it for another year! Adam & I headed to ma&pa's straight after work on Friday so we could make the most of Chrimbo Eve rather than spending it sitting on a motorway in traffic jams. We spent the morning pottering round a surprisingly empty Hinckley town centre, Morrisons & Woodlands - think everyone had gone to Leicester for last minute buys. It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without heading to church for the Christingle Service & nibbling away at the raisins while singing carols. The church was packed - a lovely sight to see. Afterwards, just like back in the day, we went over to Aunty Di & Uncle Dave's for dinner. It was lovely to catch up with them both & I got to see Helen as well who I grew up with & met her Fiance Pete before their wedding in April next year. We left theirs & headed to Midnight Mass. It's hard to believe Adam & I were some of the youngest there cos I'm sure we almost nodded off during the sermon ...

Chrimbo ain't cancelled!

Image
Huzzah! I know most of you probably didn't think it was in the first place but seeing as we didn't get a proper Chrimbo outing at work this year I wasn't feeling quite as festive as I could. Last night, things all changed for the better, Adam's company invited me along to their Chrimbo party at the Wimbledon Dog Track. Not long after we'd sat down in the warm restaurant (no standing outside for us!) we placed bets on the first race. Most of the others were trying to figure out who was the best to put their money on & I just sat there picking the ones who's names I liked. We (the 'royal we') were off to a good start & Andy won the first race woop! As well as the excitement of the dogs we also had the excitement of Secret Santa! I'd got quite carried away with mine & got loads of things from the pound shop & put them in a big box, others weren't quite so enthusiastic & wrapped their gifts in the carrier bags they'd came...
