So much for updating this blog more regularly! Yoink!  In a nutshell, life has changed again...  I was made redundant in August, I knew I wasn't happy in my job but it still hit me like a tonne of bricks. I'd been working in the fashion industry for 15years, now the rug had been taken out from under me it gave me the fresh start I obviously needed. I was left with no work or home ties to London and so decided to relocate to the Midlands. I started to apply for jobs and found one that seemed perfect, a studio assistant role on minimum wage, I went for the interview and found out the next day I hadn't got that job, but the boss had wanted to employ me as her PA / Project developer, it was a dream job come true! All that organisation with creative bits thrown in! Huzzah! I've been working there a month and a half and I'm loving it, the people are lovely, the job is great, and the embroidery product is beautiful. Well we're in this lockdown for at least another 3 weeks so thought I'd try to look on the bright side of life (di dum di dum di dum di dum)... It's a Monday.....in January....what better way to cheer up than meeting up with Lou, heading to Drink, Shop & Do , grabbing a huge teapot of Chai, then designing & screen printing my own tea towel. We were welcomed in by Zeena - a brill teacher & lovely lady (check out her website HERE ) she does a full range of workshops both at DSD & elsewhere. It was a really fun & relaxing evening & made a great change to be doing something creative (other than work) in my spare time. Can't wait for the next one...Lego Robots anyone?! Ttfn x

Out of my mates the next person to taking the Miss - Mrs transformation is Becca! Woop! We had her Hen Party a few weekends ago. It was held at her house & suited her down to a tee, hats off to Helena for sorting it & all the fellow Hens for their wonderful contributions! A few of us arrived the night before & so started the big day with yummy pancakes (thanks to Anna) before we pushed Becca off to buy some "important last minute things" while we transformed her dining room into a bunting & pompom palace. Everyone had been asked to bring food for an afternoon tea. We were pretty much drowning in cakes (not that anyone complained!) & lots of yummy savory snacks too. Beth's cupcakes above were AMAZING! After we'd welcomed Becca back & eaten our weight in sweet stuff it was time to split into two, half of us were learning how to crochet, the rest were learning how to make bracelets before we all swapped over.  Some girls turned in...

As soon as we started planning the wedding I knew I wanted a special cake topper. One that could be kept for years as a memory of our big day & there was no one better to capture us than Slink. I first met Slink when she was this really cool rock chick in the same hall as me at uni & I was obsessed with all things Steps & Blue related. Goodness knows why (or how) we got on so well but we managed it & gradually along with the help of a few mates & being dragged kicking & screaming (sometimes through bushes - you know who you are!) to rock nights my own rock godess awoke & we became much better mates seeing as we didn't have to argue over which version of Under The Bridge was better Red Hot Chilli Peppers or AllSaints (I'm still ashamed that was even a discussion!). At the end of 2nd year when we'd been living together Slink made me a little model of me which still sits on our fireplace today (minus an arm thanks to the move! :S)...

Yesterday it was mum's turn to celebrate the big 6-0 & what a jam-packed weekend it was! I'd taken Friday off to travel up to Lufbra with Lisa & Jenna for them to try on their bridesmaid dresses & for me to see mine after a few tweaks. It was great to see their outfits in dress form & not a swatch of fabric & a rough pencil sketch (thankfully they look really great so can't wait to see everyone in them on the day!). I also tried my dress on again which was a bit snug today the least! Yoink! Hopefully that's given me enough motivation to watch what I eat rather than my complete lack of will power! On Saturday evening ma&pa had a joint 60th birthday party at home which was really good fun! Most of the teachers (& ex-teachers) I'd not seen in years so it was fun to catch up & the birthday boy & gal had fun too.
