Cess & her hens

Last weekend it was a fellow India Girlie's Hen Party. Step forward bride-to-be Cess.
We all met at the Brunswick House Cafe which was a fab venue right next to Vauxhall Station. It was the right level of quirky & full of random bits & bobs hanging from the ceiling. When we went to the table Cess' MOH had added to the decorations with tea lights & a pretty table cloth as well as our own place settings.
Thankfully it wasn't obviously a Hen Party, though there were subtle hints like Cessie's straw on the table! :P
The waiter was really lovely while he took these photos & was determined to get the best shot possible which was evident at the number of photos on my memory card!
Once we'd sorted out the bill, overpaid by £67, got the money back & put it all into the drinks kitty we set off for Thamesis Dock just down the road on Albert Embankment.
It's a fab 1930s Dutch Barge that's been converted into a pub/club & the view of Parliament & Big Ben was stunning all night. We had our own table inside where we made the most of the drinks kitty involving G&T & Jager Bombs yoink!
As usual we weren't the only Hen/Stag party & these 3 guys were out to celebrate the guy in blue's Stag. Everyone found it hilarious that I matched the other blokes so well, (I'm in the middle in case you were wondering!)!
We made our way down to the lower deck for a bit of a boogie. I grabbed this shot from the deck above of the girls before I had to get one with Cessie & Emhen, India girlies reunite!
It was so hot in there it felt like we were back clubbing in Taika, thought I don't think we were ever that warm in B'lore! Well maybe we were but the Kingfisher seems to have blocked it all out!
I couldn't resist one last photo of Big Ben & the London Eye before I walked back across the bridge with Ehmen to her place where we had a cuppa, a bagel & good old natter before crashing about 2:30am. Another brill Hen Party getting to spend time with my nearest & dearest. Mwah!

Happy 30th Adam!

Wow what an eventful weekend! Friday was Adam's 30th so we both took the day off work to celebrate together. After sleeping in till 10am Adam finally woke me up asking when I was going to emerge & celebrate his birthday with him - Yoink! So much for the breakfast in bed I had planned. We started the day off as all birthdays should be celebrated - with a trip to Asda! After getting the boring chores out the way we headed to Winter Wonderland (via the Barber) for our annual wander around with a mulled wine in one hand & a Bratwurst in the other all polished off with a pretzel. We stopped off at the Carousel bar to watch the world go by (literally! The whole bar rotates really slowly) & have another mulled wine while putting the world to rights before heading off for dinner in Hammersmith. Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). There were mixed responses to the rather tentacle-y calamari (I have some hilarious snaps of Jazzy eating the tentacles but I'm here to make friends not enemies so those will be shared between the 2 of us &am

Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent
