sneaky peak of the Royal Wedding

The wedding that's gonna be ace (but not as ace as ours) is nearly upon us - that's right the Royal Wedding!  I've been getting more & more excited as it draws closer & it looks like I'm going to head into central London (crazy I know) & wave my little union jack along side everyone else.  I can't wait!  Adam just sent me this youtube video which has got me even more excited about the whole thing (eventhough it bears no resemblance to what'll happen on the day!) but one can dream! anyways best be off & get stringing up that bunting! x x x

An apple a day keeps the dr away

Image
That's cos you'll be at the dentist! I had my first apple in aaages & boy did it hurt my teeth! Now the weather's so much better I'm really trying to have a bit more fruit & thought a lovely granny smith would be the answer. It was yummy yeah, but I don't think I want to sacrifice my front teeth for it! The idea is to loose weight for the wedding but I don't think Adam would be chuffed if I arrived at the church a size 0 (as if!!) & then gave him a gummy grin! It was so nice to stand outside for a mid afternoon break munching on my apple looking at the river flowing past & the sun beating down. It's days like these that the 2hr commute doesn't seem so bad when you know you'll be greeted with a view like this. Off to jive tonight & I'm going to meet Lou for a natter & apple pie first - wow apple again! That's like double the dose of fruit, I can just feel the weight dropping off! (now do you see why I'm rubbis...

Spring has sprung!

Image
Normally that would mean I'd head for the ice cream but since living with Adam (who's super healthy) it means we make a fruit salad with carnation milk. Was actually pretty good! I've even started eating the salad that I used to claim was cheap filling on the side of my plate when we go out. What's happening to me?! At least it means the wedding diet is still going well! Bonus! roaming reporter KtPx

Woof!

Where have all these dogs & puppies come from recently?! It's like they've all come out of the woodwork along with the better weather, people have gone dog crazy! This cute little fella was on the tube with me today, there was one in the train the other day that sat next to me while I played with him & I met a little sausage dog puppy called cosmo at the building I work at yesterday. Our offices are right by the river so there's loads of space to go for walkies. So far we have an old English sheep fog, a dalmation, a doberman, 2 cocker spaniels & cosmo in the building! I'm going through one of my broody dog moments at the mo it's torture watching them all around me! Oh for a little pug of my own! roaming reporter KtPx

We're having a party...

Image
A Rock n Roll bride party to be precise. I've been following Kat's blog for a year or two now mainly cos of the fab photography on there but now it's even better cos I get sneaky wedding ideas too! She decided to host a party in central London, 500people applied, 200 got tickets including Adam & I  & that's where we went last night. We met at picadilly circus & went for dinner at a very gurmpy Strada before heading into soho. I'm always a sucker for a blue plaque so went up to this one to see who'd lived at that building & it took me ages to actually read what it said properly! The party was at The Graphic Bar & it was ace inside. They had graffiti on shutters on the walls, typography prints hanging up (Adam was happy!) & the best of all? They served the rock n roll bride punch in paint tins! It was really cool getting to meet the lovely lady herself & say how great I thought the blog was, geeky I know! It was really odd though t...

Venting his fustration

I'm sitting next to a guy on the tube who's playing angry birds (no suprise there!) & as he's playing he keeps lifting his legs up or squeezing his knees together depending on how crucial the game is it's hilarious! Takes me back to my game gear days when I used to lift my arms & the console up everytime I jumped! Decided to actually watch the world go by on my journey home tonight (well apart from having my nose stuck to this phone writing my blog!) & listen to some music. I opted for Speakerboxxx by Andre 3000 & I'd forotten how fab this album is, takes me back to 2nd year at uni. Ahh them were the days! Anyways back to the scenery, well once I'm back above ground & not looking at a black tunnel wall! roaming reporter KtPx

London calling

Image
Headed into central London yesterday to do some comp shopping & see what's around in the world of mens shirts. I started off at Libertys, had a look around carnaby street & ended up on oxford street right by primark (no idea how that happened!) It was fun wandering round carnaby street in the sunshine & luckily it wasn't too busy. The shops were all looking good with their spring stock but I just can't get over how many denim & chambray shirts there are out there at the moment! Saw some great ideas, but most if all it was good to know that our collections for that season were right on track. Phew! When I was on carnaby street I had to pop into Johnny cupcakes to see what they had. It's such a fab shop, tho the number of people coming in who wanted an actual cupcake & ended up leaving disappointed was quite funny! So many shops had the royal wedding as their theme which was ace! I can't believe it's come around so quickly. I've not deci...

The sun has got his hat on!

Image
Huzzah! It was so nice to be able to enjoy a weekend of solid sunshine! The only trouble is tho with the good weather comes the painful summer shoe breaking in session! This is my first summer with my new tattoo on my foot, it's so nice to have it out in the open & not hidden under socks & docs! There was one problem tho - I needed a plaster to get my feet used to my cherry wedges again put the plaster covered part of my tattoo, so what other option did I have?! I got Adam to trace the design onto the plaster with a marker pen! We headed off to the pub (that ended up with the least sunniest pub garden in the whole of London I think!) for a few drinks with art & sam & enjoyed a fairly relaxing Saturday evening. Today went went to visit Lisa & the gang & Adams parents were there too. We pottered round the shops & Adam tried on a rather dapper suit in Ted baker for the wedding. When we got back to the house we invaided Brandon's trampoli...

Strike a pose!

Image
Firstly how on earth is it Friday already?! I'm not complaining but wow where did the week go? Now Adam & I are engaged I know the focus is all on us, from the planning right up to the actual day, but I never knew we'd be photographed this much! We've got 2 engagement sessions planned - 1 with lou & t'other with the barbers (our confirmed (yay!) wedding photographers). We're looking forward to having a bit of a laugh with these without the pressure of it being our wedding day & it also gives us a chance to see what poses don't work for us (I'm thinking the family double chin that's been passed down for years here!). On top of that I've also won 2 makeover sessions with photoshoots at the end from the weding fairs we've been to. I get to take away 1 or 2 prints without being charged so will just have to be very careful & probably leave my credit card at home so I don't end up buying more! All these different shoots were so...

I swear it's been longer than 40 days!

Well I'm still going strong on my facebook-free lent & but it's driving me mad!! I was doing really well until this week where I've changed from thinking 'aww I'm missing out on things & photos' to a point where I'm actually annoyed & fustrated! It's really weird! At least it's less than a month till Easter day when I can log in once more! Trouble is i'll be with adam's family so I can't just sit there all day online checking what's been going on! Argh! I know you're supposed to give up something that's tempting but this is rediculous! roaming reporter KtPx

im lovin' it!

no for once this post isn't about me & my love affair with mcdonalds! I've decided to sign up to bloglovin' so if you're on it too then follow me & i'll follow you (in a non-stalkerish way i promise!) i've been finding some pretty cool blogs out there in blog land recently so take a peek at who i'm following too! have a good thursday & roll on the weekend! looks like it could be a sunny one! :) just wish our garden was all sorted & ready for a bbq instead of just rubble (that is if we can get past our neighbours junk on our path!!)! x x x

Having an invisible morning

Image
If one more person pushes or shoves me out of the way this morning I'm going to scream! I was doing my morning exercise of walking up the escalators on the underground when a guy standing on the right didn't even check if anyone was coming up behind him, stuck his arm out to the left & pushed in! If I'd been one more step up he would have actually socked me in the jaw! The rest were all idiots at various stations either pushing me out of the way or not even bothering with the push, instead going for the walk straight through tactic! Oh the joys of londoners! roaming reporter KtPx

Arty Farty weekend!

Image
For once we had a very quiet weekend which makes a nice change! No one was visiting & we weren't visiting anyone. So what better way to spend this time by sleeping till noon (not done that in aaaages!) & watching coach trip?! We ended up having a bit of a marathon with the odd ace of cakes thrown in for good measure! Loving the fact that we can sit with the curtains open for longer as well now. While we were watching out gazillionth episode of Brendan & his bitchy passengers we noticed a gorgeous sunset round the back of our house. I took this photo from our bedroom window & love how retro it looks! Adam had his phone out too as we tried to beat each other with who could get the best hipstamatic effect on our sunsets! Then out came the tophat for a silhouette shot! Love it! After the excitement had died down it was back to the tv! This time the coach trippers were learning how to paint like Picasso where you draw half the face from the front & ha...

Plans of plans for planning

Image
My wedding planning book's getting fuller & actually quite heavy to keep carrying round now! That won't stop me tho! I've even had to buy a file that's full of completed stuff & deposits we've paid so it's all getting exciting! I now have my notebook for ideas, an expandable folder for stuff from wedding fairs & now my confirmation file! Who says I get carried away by planning?! I found quite a good website called www.theknot.com that gives you a to do list & what you should do when. So it's quite useful. I'm not gonna fill in all the other bits about guests & budgets etc, the rents & I have our own spreadsheets for that (dya now see where I get it from?!). According to the website I have 521days to go, I've completed 31 tasks & have 157 left to go! Bring it on! Love having things to tick off it's very satisfying! I was playing with my bag strap on the bus the other day & realized I'd made a heart without th...

There's no place like home!

Image
Im now on my way home after a fun night out with a nice ammount of wine in my tummy! Had a really good time catching up with the India Girlies & going over how Adam proposed once more (not sure i'll ever get bored of that story! ;-) others my disagree!) I got this lovely bunch of flowers from them all as we caught up on gossip & news. When it was time to go I remembered once more why I love where i live so much! I was walking to the tube stop & had to go past Big Ben & Westminster Abbey. These huge landmarks never grow old with me I love them every time I see them! Who knew when I came to London on my first visit with mum&dad when I was 6yrs old that I'd be living near these landmarks?! But I know for sure I'll never take them for granted! Love it! roaming reporter KtPx

Never judge a wine by it's label!

Image
Off to catch up with the India Girlies tonight at Emhen's house & it was my turn to buy wine. Who knew it would be so hard to buy?! I never know what wine's good or not, not being a wine drinker myself, so I called dad from sainos. He advised what to get & how much to spend & still I went & looked for the prettiest label! I'm such a magpie! Ended up with what I think (going by the label) will be minging & horrible whereas in actual fact it's bound to be lovely & much better than l the pretty & blinding bottles! Ah gimme an ale any day! roaming reporter KtPx

Dog tired!

Image
I think dogs should be compulsory on every morning commute. This one got on (with it's owner!) at Camden on our way in & straight away all the business men & women who usually look really stern went gooey eyed & smiled! Definately something to lighten the mood on a Monday morning. Had a great weekend, firstly was the prohibition party in central London. We all had to go dressed in 1920s get up so I got a flapper dress & Adam even did finger curls in my hair (is there no end to his talents?!) while he wore a suit, braces & a fedora & looked rather dashing! It was a brill night out & we had cocktails served in teacups (incase the police spotted us, what with it being prohibition & all!), gambled on the poker tabels with our $100 notes we were given on arrival, watched a silent black&white movie acompanied by a piano & danced the charleston to a live band as well as watching a burlesque dancer. Everyone had made such an eff...

Fashion Friday!

Image
I have a new 'thing' for patterned tights! They're ace! I used to wear them (as well as glittery ones & boy did they itch!) when I was little & now they're back they're even better than before! I spotted them in primarni the other day & had to snap them all up! I've only had these on for 2hrs so far & I've already had to rescue a potential ladder threat with my trusty clear nail varnish so it looks like it was a good job I bought loads of pairs!! Suddenly 2quid per wear ain't such a great deal! Should have bought the more expensive ones in the first place that actually last! Oh well! roaming reporter KtPx

good things come to those who wait!

Image
Well I guess this post is better late than never!  On the 26th Feb Adam & I had our Engagement Party at The Book Club in Shoreditch.  It was a fab venue & a ruddy good time was had by all (from what i can remember!)!  loved the fact we didn't buy any drinks all night either! :-P  I was also introduced to the wonder that is a Jaegerbomb!  yoink!  This post's a bit image heavy sorry!    the happy couple! :)  not all my bridesmaids could make it but anna & lou represented the rest (& did a great job!)     i spent quite a lot of time in this pose, at least i know from now on that dan makes a very good hand double!   i love the next 3 photos of Adam &I they make a giggle so much, especially the last one!   we are in love, promise!     the fab ceiling covered with light bulbs!   Adam, pete, ash matt posing on behalf of paul who couldn't make it!   "hello dreamboat, not you shipwreck!" ...
