katie is......

wishing she could stop thinking about her daily life in a facebook way! Everything she does she thinks of herself in 3rd person and so whenever she does interesting all, Katie is…..springs into mind! Don’t worry if you don’t get this blog, only fellow facebookers will know what I mean!! I’ve not blooged for a while cos ive been jet setting off to far off lands. I had a weeks holiday in New York with Adam and it was fab. We had such a great time! It was about -11degrees with the wind and it snowed lots J we even went ice skating in central park in the snow! How romantic?! Bleugh! Hehe! :P we did lots and lots of walking and shopping and we didnt want to come home! It was Adam’s birthday while we were away and so I surprised him with tickets to an ice hockey match. There was only one fight the rest of the time they were slamming each other into the walls! I really enjoyed it actually, wasn’t sure I would! Not really got much to say apart from it was great and we loved g...

London where the streets (& chewing gum) are paved with gold!

Image
Ok ok i know i decided to live in london, one of the most expensive places yadda yadda yadda but when, oh when did a small packet of chewing gum cost over 50p?! The evidence is above, both the offending packet & my change from £1! Madness! In my day it was always around 30p. Im shocked & i bet the mintiness doesnt last as long anymore either! :-P X x x

money, money, money, money....mo-ney!

oh to be a kid again. i was sitting behind a group of school boys this morning on the bus and they were all chatting about money - one guy had 10p that he wasn't giving to ANYONE and on the other extreme one of his mates was said to be 'loaded' seeing as he had £4! now if we go by this rule then i might be classed as a millionnaire seeing as i have the treasured value of £8.60 in my purse. i wish shops could appreciate this new value of money - if they did, im sure i could be owning a penthouse on regent street and a lovely rx8! i think we should listen to kids more and take on their ways of thinking! i want to be rich dammit!! btw, still on the subject of money i was quite impressed that my poppy total this year only reached £3! i managed to keep the same poppy for the full amount of time tho i did find myself buying another one from 2 really old men at waterloo station cos i felt sorry for them and the other was for adam cos we were going to a rememberance sunday ...
Image
Well ive got my 1st poppy of 2007. Lets see how long this one lasts. I always buy them early so i can wear it for a while but the plan usually backfires, cos the little poppy that i thought id donate a pound to get, ends up costing about a tenner cos the thing falls off too often! I had heard that theyd brought out a sticky poppy so you dont need the pin & so in theory doesnt fall off, but then it doesnt feel as traditional as when you either look down & see just a pin where your poppy was or you stab yourself on the pin! Cant win really! :-P X x x

mitten madness

well it's that time of year. the gloves, funky hats and scarves are out. It's flipping freezing! today was one of those lovely winter mornings where it's sunny but bitterly cold - my favorite part about english weather. there's nowt better than wrapping up warm (looking like the michelin man! :S) and then waddling out the door into the cold! now im usually fine about all my winter accessories but this year is the 1st year since i was tiny that i've worn mittens. they are soo hard to do any general day to day activities. they need an instruction manual! goodness knows how kids cope. There must be a gene or a brain cell or something that small kids have when they're small to help them cope in mittens, then when you're an adult this gene disappears and you can't function as soon as all of your fingers are bound together. i tried to read a book - impossible. i tried to hold more than one thing at once in my hand - impossible. i kept dropping my ca...

pigeon street

Image
just a little observation when i was wandering round london the other day. why do you never see pigeons with both feet intact?! they pretty much all have at least one mangled foot, if a foot at all! bit minging i know but its one of life's great mysteries. well, not really, but it sounds more interesting that way! :P on other news W.I.T played 2 great gigs this weekend. one at the Plough Inn for Oxfam where they headlined the Oxjam gig. check out the link below to a video of the crazy kids! (sorry the sound isn't very good, i'll hopefully get a better one on here one day!) http://youtube.com/watch?v=CxutiAhHlxI also hopefully one day i'll be able to post a link properly, not just a website to click on! :S their 2nd gig was at The Comedy near Leicester Square which was great fun! I got quite a few of my mates down to see them and they had a great turn out of their mates too. both gigs went really well and the 2nd one should hopefully lead to them gett...

KtP the hermit!

just to let you know that yes i do still exist on this planet! i haven't been blogging cos i haven't really been doing much thats worth blogging!! it's been the same old work, sleep, eat, see adam, sleep, eat, sleep, the odd beer, eat, i think you get the message! :P i'm just really leaving this as a courtesy message to say i haven't been abducted by aliens, i'm still in london wowing the shirt industry and i'll be back doing more exciting things in the not to near distant future! xxx

Smuggling peanuts

Image
Now for the pervs among you this post isnt going to be what youre expecting! Meet peanut. The new addition to adams family. He fell out of his drey & adams sister is a vetinary nurse so she brought him back to look after him & here he is. Hes gorgeous! :-) he sits outside the back door waiting to be let in the nibbles on grapes on the kitchen floor! Aww Hehe.
Image
Peanut kept trying to find somewhere to burrow! :-S thankfully he didnt succeed! Hehe. Infact you should feel privilaged to see me out & about. Since my 2 birthday presents (an ipod from mum & dad & a nintendo ds from adam) ive turned into a teenager again who mainly grunts! Ok its mainly sudoku im doing & with something stupid like 2million puzzles its gonna take me a while! But hey i love a challenge! Hehe. Adam & i even find ourselves sitting on the tube playing on our ds' if youre lucky we might be competing against each other! I dont know, Modern relationships today! :-P at least its keeping us out of mischief! Hehe. Oh one other thing, why do all the buses ive been on today smelt of garlic?! Random! X x x

Chapter 3........

Now I've reached my actual birthday! Mum and dad came up on the Monday (the day before) so that they could spend the whole of my birthday with me in London seeing as I’d book the day off work. On the Monday us 3 and Adam went out for a meal at an Indian called Mela on Shaftsbury avenue and was amazing. The best I've probably had outside of India tho a little rushed at times! They did their own version of a Malai Kofta and they had Roomali Roti so I was chuffed! If you ever get a chance to go, go! (Nothing wrong with a bit of promo!!) On my actual birthday I met up with mum and dad at their hotel and they whisked me off for a day of surprises. After breakfast our 1st stop was Buckingham palace which was beautiful and even though I’d seen it from the outside many times before, you can now go inside. so we went round the mews where all the horses and carriages are kept and also went into the state rooms and they were incredible. Just to think that that's someone'...

Tickets more sort after than Glastonbury.......!

Image
A couple of weekends ago was the very exclusive 'P-fest.' So exclusive many people won't have even heard of it! It was held at mum and dad's house so I couldn't really invite loads of people, so sorry if you didn't get an invite, it was purely for space! I do still like you!! :P THE FLYER THANKS TO ADAM'S CREATIVE-NESS! Adam and I drove to Leicester on the Friday afternoon and then Dan and Kat (2 other members from the band W.I.T.) travelled down by train. Friday was nice and relaxed and we all chillaxed in the hottub together. I'm such a groupie!! Saturday was when the excitement started......the band spent the day rehearsing ready for their Leicester debut! At 7:30 the guests started to arrive and the nights fun began. Unfortunately it was raining so in reality it was very authentic festival weather, but seeing as people were coming to enjoy themselves and not get caked in mud we decided to move everything indoors. Everything that is except...

chapter 1.....

As you can probably tell I still don’t have internet in my new flat hence no posts on my blog! So I'm writing this offline and will post it when I get somewhere with internet! A lot has happened recently so I'll start writing from a few weeks ago and will eventually catch up to date with what's been going on. I don't want you all falling asleep at your desk as you try to read one huge post from me! Just imagine....the whole of earls court was turned into a pub. wow, heaven!!! That's right it was time for the great British beer festival in London, it was great fun. you could buy 3rd of a pint for about 70p so it was a great way to try lots of different beers and not get too drunk in the process! :-S you could also chat to a badger on the badger phone - don't ask, it seemed like a great idea when we were there! honest! Not really got much to say on this cos it was literally a huge pub and lots of real ale! After that Adam and I staggered to Brixton to...

home is where you hang your hat - tho not found a hook for that yet! :S

ive done it! ive finally found a new, bigger and cheaper room! I'd been looking for a while but wasn't in any rush and was planning on just going when the right thing came up, and it eventually did! so last monday i packed my bags (boxes, bin liners, anything that would hold stuff!) and left my little room i moved into just over a year ago. Ok my new place is 10min further up the road but as i said it is bigger AND cheaper (more importantly)! Also its right next door to a 24hr Asda! haha! the flatmates are cool too, i'm living with 2 guys (one aussie - mark and 1 english - james) and a spanish girl called olga. i'm glad i'm living in a mixed flat again now, i definatly prefer the atmopsphere of a flat where there are guys there too! i was really lucky with my old room too cos i managed to find someone to take it almost straight away and she's moving in tomorrow! :) so its all gravy! MY ROOM AFTER I'D PACKED UP MOST OF MY CRAP, IT LOOKED SO MUCH BIGGER! ...

day 59 in the big brother house............

Image
i know this is a bit behind the times but my internet aint been working at home so i havent been able to blog recently so heres a little back track of what's been happening in ktpland: last friday i managed to get 4 tickets to the big brother eviction night. I was so excited! THE INFAMOUS BB EYE! it was a good night to get tickets for too cos one of the girls that everyone loved to hate was up and so we knew it would be a good atmosphere, and we weren't wrong! adam bless him had been in the que since about 5pm and the rest of us didn't turn up until about 6:30! we eventually got in after everyone else in bright costumes and banners were allowed to push in (we werent told about that, if we knew we could have done something!!) we then went through some very strict security searches and sniffer dogs (more for show than anything i think, he wasnt the best behaved dog in the world!!) we later learned though that security had been tightened cos of charlie and the fact that qui...

hubble bubble toil and trouble

Image
Had a very exciting day last Friday....1st of all it started with the fact that I had tickets for Big Borther's Little Brother (a chatshow about big brother) and it's hosted by a rather good looking Dermot O'Leary!! :) hehe so i was more than happy to go along. I had got 2 tickets but i decided to go on my own so that i could be more sure of getting in cos they only let 30 people in for the audience and they gave our about 60 tickets i think! Anyways i was lucky enough to get in and had a great time whooping and cheering along about big brother (you think i'm sad, wait till you read the rest of this blog!! :S) At the end i even got my wristband signed by Dermot and met him, well by 'met' i mean said hi to while he signed my band! ME AT THE TOP LEFT AT THE BACK ON BBLB once the show finished i was offered tickets for the live eviction for that night. it was so annoying cos i'd loved to have gone and booed nicky with everyone else as she was evicted b...

one word for the day......ACE!!

Image
A couple of Saturdays ago mum came to visit cos we had tickets for Wimbledon. We won tickets in the raffle they do and thought we had tickets for the doubles finals but cos of all the bad weather they'd been having we ended up with men's semi-finals with Rafael Nadal v Novak Djokovic, then the ladies doubles semi-finals and the veterans mens doubles with Pat Cash and Krajicek v Woodbridge and Woodforde it was such a good match, a great laugh compared to the other more serious matches we'd seen earlier! Pat Cash was brilliant tho i would have hated to play against him or eve on his team! As soon as he came on the court he nicked the other teams chairs and then later on threw the bags with all their spare rackets and stuff off the court. The poor ball boys and ball girls had to go round collecting all the stuff and clearing up after Cash! After that match we thought that was it so we got ready to leave but cos the men's semi-finals had finished early (cos Djokovic ...

we're all going on a summer holiday....

Image
A couple of weeks ago Adam and I went to the Isle of Wight for 4 days. I’d never been before so was really looking forward to getting away from the city and into the middle of nowhere. We were staying in Sandown in a pub called the Castle. It was quite nice actually and the landlord was lovely. Their breakfasts were brill, tho by the last day we had to ask for half a full English breakfast cos they were so big! :S haha. OUR HOTEL To get to the beach it only took a few minutes and so on the first day we went down to the pier and started the holiday as we meant to go on – at the arcades!! My guilty pleasure is the 2p machines, I managed to win loads on them, tho I put it all back in again once I’d won it! Adam’s little thing is all about the grabby machines. He’s quite good actually and usually wins. I got a dumbo which was quite cute. He also won a Wario character but I refused to have that one cos it looked a bit too much like a clown and freaked me out too much!! :S We we...

busy busy bee!

Image
seeing as i'm off work sick today (yes i am looking for sympathy!! :P) i thought id update y'all on what i've been up to. I've been all over the place and dont really feel like i've stopped so gonna just do a few notes really! A few weeks ago a group of us went to alton towers as the unwritten anual traditional rule says we must do! it was a perfect time to go really cos it was a monday, no schools or unis were off and it was raining a bit so there was pretty much no one around! we almost didn't go cos the entrance tickets are now £32 EACH couldn't believe it, but we managed to get BOGOF vouchers thankfully and wasn't too bad. Who can actually afford to spend that much on a day out?! we managed to get on most of the big rides at least once and i gradually deafened everyone as i screamed my way around them! cos we hadn't been last year (shock gasp!) all the rides seemed so much better and i'm sure they'd made oblivion higher and the other ri...

Its not so bad being trendy.....

Image
Well since i last blogged which im ashamed to say was ages ago (im a busy person, people to see, places to go! Yeah right!) Ive been to see reel big fish AGAIN! This time tho we managed to get right to the front. Ive never been so hot, sweaty, battered & bruised but still happy in my life Hehe! It was at ulu in london & the venue was a little dated to say the least! It was like a school hall, there was the wooden flooring, a small stage for assembly(!) & huge windows with curtains that dont completely cover them so while youre at the gig the suns still shining through! :-S as usual the gig was ace & i kno i sound like a crazed fan but aaron & jonny christmas definately smiled & waved at the smiley, sweaty thing being crushed that was me at the front! :-) Ive also been to see the rents for an evening, well i went to have a dip in the hottub & chinese but was nice to see mum & dad of course too! :-P Last weekend becky, laura & i went to leeds to v...

Woof!

Image
Saw this on my way to work this morning & it made me smile cos it reminded me of that kids tv show woof! This dog seemed to be a stray but he just waited patiently for the trains to come & go then once the barriers lifted he just walked across like the rest of us! Hehe. Maybe he was off to solve a mystery?! X x x

young and the hopeless!

Image
Last Friday I went to see Good Charlotte at Brixton Academy. I’ve liked them since I was in 1st year and we used to jump around to ‘lifestyles of the rich and famous’ at rock night seeing as that was the only ‘rock’ thing I knew back in them days!! So when I got tickets to see them I was a little bit more than excited! (I like them cos of the view as well as their music so that helps of course!! ;-) ) OBVIOUSLY BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER!! :P Now I knew that there would be quite a lot of emos and quite a lot of teenagers there cos I thought it would be about an over 14s gig at the worst, so I braced myself. But nothing prepared me for the fact that there was no age limit! There were kids who looked as young as 7 wandering around in their little GC tshirts! I couldn’t believe it! I think adam and I were some of the oldest people there who weren’t parents! :S I usually feel old at a reel big fish gig cos they are over 14s but this was worse! GC were brilliant liv...

There's someone in my head but it's not me...

I was going to write this blog once id got all my photos sorted so I could post them with the writing but I've waiting too long and still haven't got them ready!! had a great weekend last week. On Friday night arf came to london and we went to see roger waters of pink floyd fame at earls court. I wasn't sure how much of his stuff I would know but I was pleasantly surprised when I was singing along to quite alot of it! It was such a brilliant show. so much fun. there were no support acts so it went straight into him. the 1st act was alot of stuff off alot of the albums they had a huge inflatable spaceman flying over the audience and later on an enormous pig that came half way out from the stage! the 2nd half was the whole of the 'dark side of the moon' album and towards the end a prism came down from the ceiling and there was a light going into it on one side and a spectrum coming out the other, just like the album cover. it looked so good! the encore was...

hay hay it's freefest!!

Image
Well its that time of year again, beerkeller & freefest! :-) Adam & i drove up to lufbra saturday morning & thankfully the traffic was fine. We left early cos of it being the bank holiday weekend but we didnt really need to the roads were pretty clear. We got to lufbra about midday & seeing as the promised rain was holding off we all decided to have a bbq. It was really nice having everyone together chillaxing outside. The gang consisted of Rfa, mattay, tricky, anna, sam, john, ross, ola, adam & me. After our food the swingball was fetched out of the greenhouse & i am pleased to say all those years of playing swingball with mum when i was little paid off & i was, (thanks to tina turner) simply the best! Hehe. That night it was the beerkeller & thankfully i was a bit (not alot!) more prepared for it & didnt need to call 0800-carrymehome! Was a fun night & i did end up falling backwards over a fence but i was pushed ok?! Sunday we met the ...
